June 15, 201312 yr today I decided to make a flight with the MD-11 after a long time of inactivity with it. the flight was LIRF-LIPZ, I fill in the FMC with all the datas, and I select on the MCP the clearence datas of 210kts and 6000ft, NAV and PROF where armed and the speed knob pulled, but the plane rose up till 6060ft and subsequently it descended again to 6000ft, then I selected 30000 on the MCP, after that I got that screen on the FMC. it shows the vertical deviation from the current altitude from the planned one, the planned FL was FL300, and on the FPL I got FL300 for every point of the route even after selecting a STAR and an approach procedure, the altitude shown over LIPZ was 30000ft. Also the the ND wasn't showing any TOC nor TOD, am I missing something, I followed the PMDG checklists Michele Faraone
June 17, 201312 yr As it looks to me, you have left the profile mode. (The altitude bug on the altitude band and the lable CLB Thrust 30000 is withe). You may want to pres PROF again. That should do it. John Rubens
June 17, 201312 yr Commercial Member You're somehow in descent phase instead of climb. What was the exact route? Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
June 17, 201312 yr Additionally it looks like you forgot to arm the doors (yellow DOOR OPEN alert). Karl Brooker
June 17, 201312 yr Author @Johnxx after I reached 6000ft I selected 30000 on the MCP. if I press PROF the problem persists. @Tabs the route was LIRF TIMOV UZ242 DENAL UM726 BAGNO UM726 PELEG UM726 SUKOM UZ71 SOVUB LIPZ Dep:Rwy 16R(ERNE5K, trans TIMOV5C) Arr: Rwy 04 trans SOVUB1X, LAREN1A in the screen I was inbound SOVAN 15min into flight @tumtiddle that's a new thing for me, can it cause a sort of alert state into the A/C systems? Michele Faraone
June 17, 201312 yr I'm not aware that it would cause any major issues, but to get rid of it, go via one of the MCDU > FS Shortcut > Cabin Doors > Arm All. Naturally disarm when you pull up to the gate. Karl Brooker
June 17, 201312 yr Did you set the CRZ altitude field on the Init page to 300 before takeoff? Clark Janes

Was there simply a typo in your post? I'm not sure how you can use two SIDs in the departure. Was it an ERNE5K SID with TIMOV transition or was it (which seems more likely) just the TIMOV5C departure which sounds like it would take you straight to TIMOV anyway? I don't have charts to check. Karl Brooker
June 18, 201312 yr Author ERNE5K is the sid and TIMOV5C the transition, on the charts ERNE5K is shown as an initial climb procedure and TIMOV5C as a Rnav Sid, but on the fmc ERNE5K is available as Sid and TIMOV5C is available only as a transition, the same is for all TIMOV procedures, here you can see http://www.ead.eurocontrol.int/eadbasic/pamslight-9A95FDF4E925D9CBD65F87B5AA4AC212/L52YHILY3X3PW/EN/Charts/AD/NON_AIRAC/LI_AD_2_LIRF_6_7_en_2012-03-22.pdf http://www.ead.eurocontrol.int/eadbasic/pamslight-9A95FDF4E925D9CBD65F87B5AA4AC212/L52YHILY3X3PW/EN/Charts/AD/AIRAC/LI_AD_2_LIRF_6-33_en_2013-04-04.pdf Michele Faraone
