B777 Go-around at Glasgow

How can you tell from the video that its windshear and not just an aircraft misaligned with the runway due to strong winds ?

It said so in the description, so we can only assume that the uploader had the resources to know, like maybe a scanner going.

I think the extended gear in BA 038 at Heathrow did in fact help to cushion the landing, but I doubt that is a contributing reason why keeping the gear down is the standard procedure! 

 

That is indeed why the skipper said he kept the gear down!

Because if it was a normal go around due to say another aircraft on the runway, they would have put gear up with a positive rate of climb. But this is the standard windshear procedure as explained by Greg above (-:
