which addons is most realistic in FSX?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I would like to know that which addons is most realistic in FSX? Example:Scenery, environment, weather effects and water effects

Hi Owen,

REX gives you a huge variety of textures for different areas like airports, clouds, sky and water. You can define and "manage" different texture sets within REX yourself.

For weather effects I'd recommend a weather "machine" like Active Sky or Opus, which can make good use of the REX cloud textures, as well.

What happened to AVSIM

Vatsim and IVAO - real people and real procedures :P

Hi Olli again,

It sounds very good. So I'm going for REX and Opus which I known before. The airport that I'll choice which I like to fly

Do you have any addons with this? Can you share to everyone?

There are two simming scenarios that really gets my heart beat up:

1. Doing a fly-in event on VATSIM flying (preferably with FS9) into a airport with a high quality scenery with high quality controllers and with lots of online pilots knowing their stuff! I'm talking eg EGLL or KLAX!

2. In FSX heading up to ORBX territory in North west US in my trusty RealAir Lancair or Cessna  Birddog and navigating with the help of RXP GSN 530 the valleys through low clouds (courtesty of Opus Software and REX).

It really brings a huuge grin to my face and a sense of relieve that I actually have accomplished something. :D

What addons are you talking of? Airports? What's the region where you want to fly and what type of of aircraft do you want to use?

Scenery,Airport, weather and enviornment. I much prefer fly in Singapre and Malaysia. I like to fly some of European countries as well, but I have no idea their route. Do you have any suggestion? I'll fly Boeing and Airbus in the future. But still in the practice Cessna now

There's a payware Singapore airport available from Imaginesim - either as a single airport purchase or bundled by Justflight into a box collection of four airports (called 'World Airports 4').

I'm not aware of payware airports for Malaysia. You could search the libraries at AVSIM and flightsim.com for freeware ones.

Ok,well, you did a good job, it will be more cheaper and more interesting, but what is difference between collection of four airports and single airport purchase? it is the same ? Ok. I'll check it out first. But I have recommended it to Imaginesim's staff for create Malaysia International Airport and Suvarnabhumi Airport, Thailand

The airports are the same; whether the box is cheaper (per airport) will depend on post&package, for example. The box also includes two U.S. airports, one of them is NOT a major hub, so you really should check them one by one.

For Bangkok you find two different developers here: http://secure.simmarket.com/fsx-asia-(de_260)-page-1.chtml
