SSD Tech Question?

Featured Replies

To make full use of SSD drives, do I need to replace my data cables?  I'm just using those that came with the mobo.

ta!

Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)

Any SATA Cable is fine - they're all the same.

Talking of which, is there a heads-up/guide in this Hardware Forum of how to run the OS and FSX off the SSD drives and place scenery files elsewhere on a traditional IDE/SATA hard drive. Asking because I have a Samsung 840 PRO 256Gb SSD purchased here and another similar one just purchased from my recent trip to the US, so really want to maximise using these 2 SSD drives that have come very highly rated.

Any pointers, tips, etc would be much appreciated.

I tried to clone the existing Windows 7 OS and the FSX currently sitting in a SATA HDD using the Samsung software, but I don't think I quite pulled it off.
