July 23, 201312 yr Hi I don't want to start a big discussion on which is the better but am I correct in thinking that the Opus cameras are always in a fixed location and cannot be moved around in the sim using the cursor keys like the EZDOK cameras. July 23, 201312 yr Not fixed at all. You can set them up wherever you want them (using the cursor keys) and then move between them smoothly at your whim. I should say I don't have EZDOK (setup problems frightened me), so I can't make a direct comparison, but personally I find the Opus Live Camera Views very easy and intuitive to set up and use.
July 23, 201312 yr What Phil means that it is not possible to move the cameras around on the fly (so to speak). You have to enter a screen menu to move a camera. I asked the developers about this a few weeks ago, and as far as I remember, they said it was on their todo list. I have switched from EZDok to Opus and I do miss the movement of cameras sometimes, so I hope this will be implemented soon. Opus development is in a league of its own. I have never seen any developer participate this much on their forum, and the amount of new betas are staggering. EZDok development seemed quite dead the last time I checked. I would suggest you go to the Opus support forum and ask about this feature. The more that asks, the bigger the chance is that it happens soon Helge Rasmussen
July 23, 201312 yr I just use FSRecorder cameras for looking around with the arrow keys. It has VC, spot and tower cameras. You can use the dialogs to set the movement rate (eg. set a small movement amound, then hold down the arrow key to "glide" around), zoom level and other properties and to position the cameras. I assigned my keyboard arrow keys and pgup/pgdown keys to the eyepoint movement commands, and then I switch on mouse panning while moving around. I use FSUIPC mouse look and de-assigned the FSRecorder mouse panning and FSX mouse look to prevent conflicts with panning. The tower and spot cameras behave a little differently: Tower cameras move relative to the view direction, but spot cameras move relative to the aircraft's heading, so that takes some getting used to. Also FSRecorder crashes the sim occasionally. Then I just use OpusFSX cameras for VC views and DHM. I suppose Ezdoc is better/smoother than FSRecorder, but I'm happy enough with FSRecorder. July 24, 201312 yr Author Thanks for you responses, I thought it was just me missing something in Opus or the move camera option was not available in the Opus Demo. Might just hold off a while and see what happens with Opus. Regards Phil Asus Maximus Hero XI , i7-8086, 16 Gb RAM, nVidia GTX 1080 ti
