October 27, 200421 yr Purchased their 717 long time ago. Will never ever buy anything else from them. Bad company, bad support, bad products, bad (high) prices.Andreas Andreas, LOWW - Nihil sumus et fuimus mortales. Respice, lector: In nihil ab nihilo quam cito recidimus.
October 27, 200421 yr Yes, it is an awful company, and their customers are probably mostly flightsim noobs. However they present you with screenshots of their products before purchase that should leave no doubt that the products are substandard, so it is not like they promised you anything excellent.-
October 27, 200421 yr Just like someone else here said not long ago.Perfect Flight = Perfect Garbage :-lolCarmine http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/Images/wave.gif
October 27, 200421 yr simnut...don't you dare rise to the challenge and ask him how he really, really feels !?!?!?! x( I for one would be compelled to read the response...beginning to end...and there just ain't enough hours in the week to read it all!!!! never mind understand it?? :+ Good to hear from you Terblanche, I think! :-beerchug
October 27, 200421 yr YEP, AGREE!This company also plagiarizes freeware and bundles it for sale.I have complained to AVSIM that they shouldn't let this company advertise based on the quality and methods they use to develop (assemble) these packages. Write Tom Allensworth and voice your concern! This company should be avoided like the plague!Barry
October 27, 200421 yr Dear flightsimmers:Totally agree with the above comments about these products and the company. Totally substandard products. They should be paying us for using their models.
October 27, 200421 yr That is great!! :D I really enjoyed your post with my cup of coffee this morning. I also agree with you about PF. Have any of the major flight-sim websites ever done a review on a PF title?? I would be curious to see one!Take care,Scott
October 27, 200421 yr Let me toss my hat into the ring on this one. Perfect Flight uses mostly default gauges with mostly default aircraft duded up a little and then charges prices that rival 767PIC, PMDG and Captain Sim!!!This is obviously a blatent rip-off for those who are not in the know. Now, if we can admonish PT for "ripping people off" why is there no massive outcry for PF? - (admittedly not to PC of me to say, but my observation none-the-less).Of course, it can be argued, if you don't like it don't buy it, but jeeze man, they are just blatenly bad!Just my opinion.Mike T.
October 27, 200421 yr I remember a lot of people getting banned from FS.com for speaking the truth about PF addons, they advertise them over there. They also get advertised here, which unfortunatly gives them a slight "seal of approval", which of course anyone who has been blighted by one of their "addons" will tell you, they are no good, in fact, some of them are bordering on appalling.Dan.
October 27, 200421 yr And most fs sites will never carry bad reviews. Nowadays a product either gets a raving recommendation or you'll never read any editorial content about it at all (PF products are never reviewed btw). -
October 27, 200421 yr Which leaves sites like Avsim and FS.com between a rock and a hard place. One one hand, I am sure they all know that PF is selling products that doesn't even amount to mediocre freeware. But on the other hand, PF advertises en masse on all major sim sites. If you give them a bad review, they may pull the money that makes it possible for us to enjoy sites like Avsim. If you say nothing, then you may ire the wrath for your readershipWhich is more important, the opinions of people who frequent the sites or the hard cash that advertisers bring in? It is a conundrum that companies like Consumer Reports avoid by refusing advertising. Alas, unless Avsim and Flightsim.com become entirely user supported, read: pay for view, then the sites are left with little choice but to accept the advertising dollars regardless of the product being sold (as long as there is no misrepresentation of course). Even in such a case, one walks a thin like between allowing threads like this to exist and STILL keeping the advertiser as a paying customer....and around and around we go.I do not envy the balancing act that Tom A and crew must play every day to keep credibility and money to keep the site up from both dwindling away. But, we all have to rely on the fact that Tom A and crew are stand up guys to look past the controversy that companies like "Perfect Fright" conjure. That's all I've got to say about that! - Forrest GumpMike T.
October 27, 200421 yr Hey Forest,Mike, I've called you alot of things, , but NEVER Forest Gump. For some reason I can't picture FG in Iraq dodging bullets . . . run, Forest, run. (yeah, that's right, that is payback for that 'old guy' remark a month or so ago, LOL)Which leaves me to the original topic of this thread -- well spoken, like the true Diplomat you are. Give me a call.and . . . .'Run Forest, Run . . . .'Love ya Buddy,Clay
