July 25, 201312 yr I'm looking for a good Cessna 172 that would be better than the default. Any good ones out there?
July 25, 201312 yr We're currently awaiting high quality C172 offerings from A2A Simulations and RealAir (chances are, both will be awesome!). At the moment, the best you'll get is the old Carenado C172N (older style 172 model), or the even older Flight 1 C172R (newer style 172 model). Although it's an older product, the Flight 1 172R is still my vast preference. Awesome flight dynamics and with some FS Panel Studio tweaks (RXP etc) it's still a great fly. http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=esd172 http://www.carenado.com/CarSite/Portal/index.php Cheers.
July 26, 201312 yr I'll second that. I bought the Carenado 172 and its great... Richard... Amateur Pilot and UK Web Hosting Guru 🙂
July 26, 201312 yr I got myself the Carenado 182q, installed a new sound pack and added the Bernt Stolle replacement FDE and I have to say I am extremely happy with it. Although I'm sure either the A2A or Realair 172 will blow it away!! July 26, 201312 yr I think at this point it makes more sense to just wait for the RealAir and A2A 172's. If you're itching to buy a new Cessna add-on, there are a few other great options to hold you over. Carenado CT182T - Huge FPS hit, but great FDE and textures/modelling, and the Carenado Cessna 206 - Available with steam gauges and a just-released G1000 add-on. The Carenado 172N is still a nice add-on, but I have a feeling we'll all hangar it when the new add-ons come out. -
July 26, 201312 yr Carenado CT182T Flight 1 T182T is far superior IMHO (one of my favourite ever addons), for about the same FPS hit. Bit more expensive I think though; but worth it.
July 26, 201312 yr Yeah it's more expensive and no P3D compatibility which doesn't make it as future proof even if you still run FSX today. -
July 26, 201312 yr True, (But it's Flight 1 over Carenado for the G1000.......... I'll sell my future for that!).
