July 27, 201312 yr I have an AI Eastern Airways Embraer ERJ135 (G-CGMB) that is always referred to by ATC as "Embraer Charlie Golf Mike Bravo". Now, this would be fine if it didn't have a designated "atc_airline" name (EASTFLIGHT). Can anyone think of any reason why ATC would NOT use the atc_airline designation? I would prefer them to use "EASTFLIGHT xxx". On a side note, I notice that ATC referred to a departing Thomson Airways flight as "THOMSON -1"! Is that just a glitch? I wouldn't imagine that they should ever be given negative designations. July 27, 201312 yr If it does not have a voicepack for it , than it cannot use it. There are many added airline calls added through editvoicepack, but they need to be created or ATc cannot use them
July 27, 201312 yr Author The callsign "Eastflight" is used for other Eastern Airways planes, so it is in the EditVoicePack database. July 27, 201312 yr Hi Christopher, More info might help us help you. Was it part of an AI package? What package? Or was it an aircraft added to the likes of UT2? Can you cut and paste the aircraft.cfg to give us a look? Best Regards, Philip M Wafer EIWT
July 27, 201312 yr Author I only need to provide you with the relevant [fltsim] section of the aircraft.cfg, because the other three planes in that folder work fine.... July 27, 201312 yr Hi Christopher, Check your other [fltsim.xxx] sections for comparison for this aircraft. Do they have the line "atc_flight_number="?? Maybe the line is required for ATC control of AI. I know that if it's a user aircraft and no number after the "=" then I get called by the "atc_id=xxxx" line instead. In AI ATC would call the aircraft by the "atc_airline=EASTFLIGHT" and flight number from the flight plan. But if the "atc_flight_number=" line is missing altogether, then maybe it reverts to "atc_id=xxxx" data instead. Test it? Best Regards, Philip M Wafer EIWT
July 27, 201312 yr Author The "atc_flight_number" line (=1351) was included when I copied the statement across to the aircraft.cfg file. ATC did not use this, so I removed it to see if it made any difference. It didn't, but I will try adding a different number and see if that "bump starts" it  Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
July 27, 201312 yr What do the other [fltsim.xxx] sections have for this? I checked some of my AI aircraft and I just saw "atc_flight_number=", ie no number after the "=". Best Regards, Philip M Wafer EIWT
July 27, 201312 yr Author The other three have "atc_flight_number=xxx", where "xxx" is 1352, 1353, and 1354 respectively. July 27, 201312 yr "atc_flight_number=" has nothing to do with AI, thats for user a/c. Sounds like the problem is in your ai flightplan which has the flight number data and also if each flight uses a callsign or reg. i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024
July 27, 201312 yr Author Thank you very much, Dave. I have learned something new today! I had always selected "Reg" in AIFP2 without ever really knowing why, but I can see that the alternative "FN" stands for flight number. I have changed the flightplan accordingly, so I am hoping that it will now work. In fact, I have also identified another flightplan with a similar problem, so that has also been changed. Cheers! July 29, 201312 yr Author Can someone advise with respect to the "Thomson -1" problem? I have looked through my Thomson Airways flightplan, but I can't find anything with a flight number of "-1". Does anyone know what might cause this?
