fs2audio. dll failed to load

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have recently carried out a FSX uninstall and reinstall- successfully with SDK's also, when I got to FS2 NGX I do not have any options to select my audio headset in config box. I also get a error message 'fs2audio. dll failed to load' I have checked both 32 and 64wow folders and fs2audio is NOT in them. I have had a look at the forum and have tried the suggestions in the manual also but the fact I do not have fs2audio and have upgraded my direct X worries me.... Is this a fs2crew problem? What is fs2audio? I really do not want to reinstall my OS..... I also get an error on closing FSX windows/systems.32/x3audio1-6.dll uncompatable, I dont know if the 2 are related...? I am running 64bit and can hear sound in fsx

Any suggestions?

Regards

H

You try this:

Problem:  I'm getting a Crash to Desktop (CTD) when I load the host Aircraft, and the the error message refers to 'FS2AUDIO.DLL'.

Solutions:

  1. If you have two sound cards running in parallel, disable one of them.
  2. If you are running any program in the background that attempts to strip Digital Music Rights (DRM) from music, such as Tune BiteSound Taxi or Sound Bite, please disable them.  They interfere with FS2Crew's Audio Engine.  Some of these types of programs are legal in parts of Europe, but they are not legal in the United Sates.
  3. Re-install FS2Crew again, but do not click 'cancel' during the install.  Wait for the install to finish.
  4. If using a Creative Labs X-Fi Extreme Audio Sound Card, uninstall the latest driver and re-install the original driver off the CD that came with your Sound Card.  The latest driver conflicts with the FS2Crew Audio engine.  (If you no longer have your original driver disk, click here to download the original driver).
  5. Sometimes users have corrupt system files/data on their Operating System.  They solved their problem by doing a clean re-install of their OS or by repairing their OS.  Follow this link to learn how to repair a corrupt Windows 7 installation.  You will need to go to the Windows Download Center and Download Windows 7, for example, with SP1 and install using the Update option.  You will need to re-activate Windows 7.
  6. Sometimes users have corrupt versions of the FSX.CFG file.  Delete the FSX.CFG file.

Yes I have... Because I don't have FS2Audio installed I am wondering if that is the problem. I did look at your manual and try these things. Im not getting any CTD.

Thank you for your reply, I know you are busy with the airbus- and is why im trying to get my issue sorted!

Does it matter were fsx is installed because recently I have installed FSX in C.FSX and not Programme86. But I cannot find FS2audio when I search....?

All the best

You should install FSX in a location other than Program Files to help avoid write permission issues with Win 7 and 8.

Mine is in the root C drive.

FS2Audio.DLL should be in System32 or SysWow64 depending on your OS.

The installer will put it there for you.

But as mentioned, I think your OS has serious issues.  A clean re-install will probably solve your issue.

Iv won!!!!!

Fixed- complete windows reinstall- not repair. Much easier than first thought- backup, reintall, done. It actually gives you that new computer feel.

Thanks for your help- now I can get into my airbus again.... with a crew!
