FTX Global DX10 patch for lights is in the making

Featured Replies

I am a bit confused, my dxdiag says DX11, not 9 or 10. I use P3D without incident. Will Global work with DX11?

Hello Jon

It does not matter if you have DX11.

The (latest) DirectX installer will install or update whatever files are needed to run DX11, DX10 or DX9 (API’s).

Note some DX components are only available on Windows Service Packs and if needed users can also download specific versions.

AFAIK Prepar3D uses DX9.

FSX uses either DX9 or DX10 (DX10 Preview + Steve’s Fixes)

FTX Global works with DX9;  and when they fix the DX10 issue with the lights it will work with DX10.

Time, is the one thing no one can buy.

If JV is truly trying to expedite the DX10 fix, that's great news. Can't wait.

Thank you for the clarification. I believe I will purchase and see how it goes

JV announced it just now on the Orbx forum, plus a temporary fix that probably most of you already know by now (simply turning the lights off completely).

Good news thanks for sharing :) that will certainly make us DX10ers happy. Might even be tempted to buy it then. I'll refrain from making any comments about the other erm I'll call it... alternative temporary way forward hehe.

Now maybe Microsoft can make us a DX10 patch...
