  1. I found that going to outside view and then back again works for me.
  2. I'm pretty sure I tried hitting twice on ap button but I'll try again.
  3. I haven't seen too much on this so it might be something I'm doing wrong. On approach with the SU15 airbus v2, I disconnect the AP and hand fly the rest of the landing. The red master alarm goes off but won't stay off no matter how many times I hit it. If I hit the AP button again, it will silence the alarm for about 10 seconds and then start sounding again. Is anyone else having this problem or know a work around until they get it fixed?
  4. Thank you. I've downloaded the latest version, which I believe I already had but will try the new one. If it CTD then I will give the layout generator a try.
  5. I seem to have the same problem with Gaist. It will CTD when loading at beginning after picking my flight and before the aircraft on tarmac screen. Where is this layout generator, you're talking about? Is it a proprietary generator for those in the beta program or can I download it myself to see if that helps.
  6. Trying to help out a friend. He installed Friday Harbor and now Squamish is missing buildings, grasses, runway textures. Does anyone else have Friday Harbor and Squamish without losing the buildings?
  7. Yes, I am aware of that. I would have to get a new motherboard for the 4790k also but could use my DDR3 memory.
  8. I thought I heard that the hyperthreading on the I7 doesn't really serve FSX well or is that old thinking. I don't really want to pay for something I'm not going to be using and FSX is the only thing I would need that much computing power for.
  9. It's OK. It's a newer generation I5 to an older generation I7 so it's allowed.
  10. I'm looking at upgrading to either the 4790k or the newer 6600k. Which would be better for FSX. I'm upgrading from a I5-3570K and Nvidia 660, which have been pretty good but it's time for an upgrade.
  11. Make sure that, if you're using ASN and REX together,r that you have the weather engine disabled in REX. There is also a setting for 'enhance haze" in REX under the configuration page. Make sure that is unchecked and that REX is not running the weather engine. Just a thought.
  12. FS Pilotshop having a Thanksgiving sale 20-50% off titles.
  13. I don't agree Rich. I'm not sure how you have your lights set but I think the street glow under the lights make a world of difference. I have mine set at 3d with spotlight.
  14. I only use DX10 and have no problems with the lights and they are running smooth. Could be your settings or machine. I run 3570K with 660 and have no problems. One thing I did noticed when I installed was that I had the new lights and the old lights of UTX (intersections) even though I had uninstalled version 1. I went to the scenery library and was able to disable the original UTX lights. Make sure there are no red intersection lights. Just a guess.
  15. Just as a clarification, you must uninstall all of version 1 prior to installing version 2
  16. No, I am not using global lights. I've used them in the past so I know what they look like. I like these lights better with the spotlight under them. From their FAQ it supposed to work well with global. Mind you, I'm not saying global LIGHTS because I don't know that for sure. If you were using these lights there really wouldn't be a need for global lights because you can have all the lights you need with UTX. I also found that the roadways are taken from TomTom data. I just tried it and found my home area pretty easily following known roadways. I took some screenshots to show but can't figure out how to put them in the message. You can go to the Flight1 website and look at their night photos. Pretty impressive, IMHO.
  17. I downloaded and used it sparingly but from I've seen, I like it. The light system appears to be like Global except you have much more control over coloring, size, etc. Also lights along the roads produce illuminated spots under them that make them very realistic. I can only speak for my machine, but I have not noticed any performance problems or lag with the lights. Spacing between the lights can also be adjusted if they need to be to help with slower machines. I've only flown in San Diego and Philly area but that's what I've seen so far. Very nice.
  18. Topic says it all. Flight1 has it.
  19. Which would be better for FSX, Intel 3570K running at 4.4 Ghz or an Intel 4790K running at stock 4.0 Ghz? These would be married with an Nvidia 660 card.
  20. I'm trying out ASN. When I start it, the program tells me there are updates and then directs me to HiFi's page to download the update for FSX. Each time I download the update, the program then expires my trial key, even though I have 7 days left. Has anyone been successful in updating the trial download or should I just leave it alone. I'm experiencing some choppy lag during heavy clouds (go figure) and was trying to see if the update improved that situation before I buy. By the way, I've contacted HiFi and got a new key but haven't received an answer about the update.
  21. I think the couatl engine is what is causing stutters, usually at high graphics area. Try removing the fsdreamteam airport and couatl engine and see what you get. You can always reinstall it if that isn't the culprit.
  22. yes, Steve's v.2 fixes the black lights at Zurich. I'm not sure of the other one.
