Bump Aircraft Option

Enable Bump Aircraft Option ...

In cases where Live Camera is Disabled this new option will provide control over the Bump Aircraft turbulent 'aircraft' motions by allowing the DHM 3D accelerometer data to be used without any resulting dynamic head movements, in other words, without the Live Camera interface.

The real world captured 3D accelerometer data and Live Weather Engine's supervision will be used to control all aircraft turbulent motions as it does with the DHM Effect when Live Camera is enabled. Some control over the general turbulence options, general turbulence scaling and Bump Aircraft scaling will be provided.

The new Enable Bump Aircraft option will be included within the Configure dialog and only be relevent on systems that are not using the Live Camera interface.

Just in case you are wondering ...

Of course Live Camera is the preferred and better option since it will provide the greatest level of realism simply by coordinating and synchronising BOTH the dynamic head movements with the (Bump) 'Aircraft' movements. Just as in real life.

I should also point out, to prevent further erroneous comments, that the OpusFSX LWE does inject all the turbulence, wind shear and icing data that is possible when it loads the weather into FSX or P3D. Hence if you enable the FSX turbulence and thermal effects you WILL see all the standard turbulence effects.

In our opinion, this is not as good as using the RW captured 3D accelerometer data and the LWE to supervise the turbulence in real time, but it does give you all the standard expected aircraft turbulent motions.

Thanks guys for introducing this option. Am amazed everytime I check the changelogs of the numerous versions and see great new features coming every time. So glad I decided to move to Opus a few months ago.

Thanks for such a great product and I look forward to more new features in the future!

Sorry for my absolute obliviousness, but where can I find the option to turn this on. Or is it automatically enabled when Live Camera is disabled?

FYI, running the latest beta (3.22.0).

Since Stephen mentioned it under the coming soon section over at Simforums, I believe the bump aircraft option will be in the next beta.  He said it will be accessible under the configure tab on the OPUS interface.

Ah sweet.. Ill keep my eye open on the downloads page of the Opus website then for the new beta. Thanks, Chris.

The Enable Bump Aircraft option has been expanded a little and is looking really good. Instead of the creating the above option I have allowed General DHM Options to be specified.

These options can be used to provide general DHM and turbulent aircraft motions just the same as when Live Camera is in use. Options are provided to enable general DHM for VC, 2D, and other view modes independently, each mode having its own set of DHM and AHM parameters that can be adjusted, including of course, the Bump Aircraft settings and adjustments.

Eventually I will allow these options to be used irrespective of whether Live Camera is enabled or disabled, they will just provide general or global DHM options for use when no LC options have been defined.

See the new Coming Soon topic. We have managed to implement the full DHM head movements and synchronised Bump Aircaft turbulent motions now just the same as when Live Camera is enabled, all supervised in exactly the same way by the LWE.

Stephen

Will this not make DHM within Live Camera redundant? Maybe I should just wait and see...

The DHM in Live Camera can be tuned and saved for individual aircraft whereas the 'general' DHM is the same for all aircraft, but can be tuned prior to flight.
