August 24, 201312 yr Going to try and catch a flight on this bad boy (or girl) when they are doing crew famil. flights with her. Pretty sure they might operate a SYD-CNS sector with her, so a good reason to escape up in the tropics for a few days  Regards,James White Aerosoft (Airbus X Extended/Twin Otter Extended/PFPX) & Majestic Q400 Beta Team
August 24, 201312 yr Seriously??? Jetstar??? ug Jetstar is the worst airliner in this part of the world (and tiger). I wish that Jetstar would learn to up the standards to be half of what WestJet is like disclaimer Westjet is not a 787 customer as they are an entirely 737 operation like Southwest but in Canada, and they kick &@($* compared to Jetstar....... Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

I wouldn't know. Have never flown with either. Is Westjet a budget carrier too Matt?
August 27, 201312 yr A budget carrier that isn really cheaper then the competition but when there's only two big players the prices are high
August 27, 201312 yr Is Westjet a budget carrier too Matt? The best way to describe Westjet is Canada's version of Southwest Airlines. They are an all 737-NG Fleet to keep costs low. They work really well as moral is high in the culture with them. They offer shares of the airline to employees, they have a CEO that goes down and helps clean the airplanes, so there isn't a culture or elitism within the company. So the little guys like to do that extra when they see a CEO doing extras as well. This is exactly the sort of culture missing with Jetstar as they have lots of problems and a staff that comes across as unhelpful when problems happen. The little guys don't do that extra for yea. One of Westjets Mottos is Our employees Care because they are also owners.....This is true when you own a piece of your company. Here is a great article I found describing there Employee Satisfaction, they are considered one of the best companies to work for in Canada: http://www.thestar.com/business/best_employers/2011/11/23/these_truly_are_the_friendly_skies.html Goes to show when you have happy employees, you will have happy customers, it all starts with the culture and that is something missing at Jetstar Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

But with the article about Westjet I have to say that it seems to be a great place to work at. There is a Christian company called Gloria Jeans Coffee and I think they take a similar approach to this with treating their staff. Everyone seems happy and although I couldn't find it on the web there is definitely a core values approach to keeping everyone happy like at Westjet. But I think making staff shareholders/owners and responsible for their enterprise (work) ensures that a common interest is established for unity and close companionship between employees. When everyone has a similar purpose it is a great way of establishing peace with all staff. I have seen companies torn up so much by strife. It is better not to work than even be around those staff members after they finish work.
