Error in FSX after moving it to a solid hard drive

Featured Replies

Helo,

I'm having problems with some changes I made in my FSX. I bought a solid hard drive and switch FSX to this drive using the software that came with the it. Everything went perfect with no problems. I did the same with my windows 7 to another solid hard drive. Again everything went smoothly. I then decided to change the directory "documents" for a larger capacity disk. My current setup is as follows:
C drive - Windows 7
Drive D - FSX
Drive E - Documents.
The problem occurs when I start a flight plan: The AI's come to stay with wrong altitudes below the ground. When closing the flight, FSX gives an error message and can not find the coordinates of aerodromes listed in the flight plan. None of this occurs in a flight where a flight plan is not selected.
Can anyone help me??

Thanks

Moving your Documents folder has likely also moved the FSX folder in it...

Try moving this FSX folder back to C:

Bert,

I have a copy of /Documents/Flight Simulator Files in C drive and the D drive. The problem remains!

Thanks

That is the FS9 folder - the FSX folder is called Flight Simulator X Files

Copy that folder back from your E: drive

Sorry, the correct directory is /Documents/Flight Simulator X Files and I have a copy in C drive and the D drive.

Thanks

The documents folder really shouldn't be moved. I recall early on when FSX was first released that Aces said to leave it where it is as FSX uses it.

Many programs will cease to function properly if it's location is changed. I suggest putting the entire folder back where it was.

On the bar, left click Windows Explorer folder. Right click Lidraries\Documents\My Documents. Left click "Open Folder Location". Should say C drive. If not, right click E:\My Documents and click "Restore Defaults". FSX should be ok now. You can then Change Location to E drive by right clicking the one on C drive and select Location tab.

Good Luck

Hi guys,

The error mensage after I end a flight using a flight plan was: "error loading GPS engine". Searching other foruns I solved the problem:

I changed the regional settings in my Windows. My language is Portuguese and it uses a "," to separate decimals.

 - Open the "Start" - "Control Panel" - "Regional and Language Options."

-. In the "Regional and Language Options" (at the bottom) click more options. "
   - In the first "separator and decimal" change the comma to a period (.) Press OK.
   - ALL
Everything now is OK
Thanks guys
