Time for some HELP

Featured Replies

A relative newby and I admit to a lack of experience, but not stupidity.

Continuing problem loading aircraft.  Download aircraft, try hard to follow directions placing aircraft and its associated components

in the folders as instructed, but 99% of the time the aircraft never show up as a choice.

Obviously I'm missing something, but I do not know what it is.

Appreciate some direction.  Thnak you.

Hi,

Full aircraft?

An aircraft that is listed but under a different name?

Repaints?

Aircraft designed for AI use only?

An exact file name so we can give things a try?

Half the time the darn things aren't called what you'd expect...

Open the aircraft.cfg file with notepad or similar, and look for these 3 lines.

E.g. for the default B737:

ui_manufacturer=Boeing
ui_type="737-400"
ui_variation="American Pacific Airways"

and look for Boeing in the sim.
That sounds easy, but some modellers choose to list their planes like this:

ui_manufacturer=Skyspirit2012
ui_type=777-300ER
ui_variation=British Airways

so you need to look for Skyspirit2012

I actually change all my addon planes to sort by manufacturer, and my sim would read:

ui_manufacturer=Boeing
ui_type=777-300ER Skyspirit2012
ui_variation=British Airways

And of course you have to change this for each variant under the respective [fltsim.xx] sections.
There, now that bit is out of the way...

I always look it up by UI_Manufacture as suggested above works for me considering i have over 800 aircraft's in my sim

- disregard -
