August 19, 201312 yr A relative newby and I admit to a lack of experience, but not stupidity. Continuing problem loading aircraft. Download aircraft, try hard to follow directions placing aircraft and its associated components in the folders as instructed, but 99% of the time the aircraft never show up as a choice. Obviously I'm missing something, but I do not know what it is. Appreciate some direction. Thnak you.
August 19, 201312 yr Hi, Full aircraft? An aircraft that is listed but under a different name? Repaints? Aircraft designed for AI use only? An exact file name so we can give things a try?
August 19, 201312 yr Could you please be more precise on your enquiry. What is the model of the aircraft, the software developer that made it? Provide link to the product if possible. Cheers and welcome to the world of the aviation simulation Pioneers of Virtual FlightGear Down Please Retrospective Civil Aviation
August 19, 201312 yr Half the time the darn things aren't called what you'd expect... Open the aircraft.cfg file with notepad or similar, and look for these 3 lines. E.g. for the default B737: ui_manufacturer=Boeing ui_type="737-400" ui_variation="American Pacific Airways" and look for Boeing in the sim. That sounds easy, but some modellers choose to list their planes like this: ui_manufacturer=Skyspirit2012 ui_type=777-300ER ui_variation=British Airways so you need to look for Skyspirit2012 I actually change all my addon planes to sort by manufacturer, and my sim would read: ui_manufacturer=Boeing ui_type=777-300ER Skyspirit2012 ui_variation=British Airways And of course you have to change this for each variant under the respective [fltsim.xx] sections. There, now that bit is out of the way...
August 19, 201312 yr I always look it up by UI_Manufacture as suggested above works for me considering i have over 800 aircraft's in my sim
