Saitek X52 problems with buttons in fsx/prepar3d

Featured Replies

It started as a single issue, with one button, my second trigger button not working properly, now the joystick will not work at all when either fsx or prepar3d is running. Nothing I have tried works, I use windows 8.

I have the same problem and found your post when searching.

I have an X52(non-Pro) that is about 5 years old. I had been using it on my Win XP machine for years with no problem, but then when I built my new rig which is Win7 64 and moved it to that machine I have had some troubles as well.

I installed the latest 64bit drivers from Saitek and if I check all the buttons in the device manager they all register in Windows with no problem, but in FSX some of the buttons dont register, namely the second trigger that your pinky would use. I used to have that assigned in EZdok to reset my view point back to the pilots eyes, but that button wont register in Ezdok, FSUIPC or FSX, but shows up in Windows.

The only thing I can think of is that my X52 is going bad due to age and use, or the other option is that since its an older model (5 years) the firmware isn't fully compatible with the newer drivers. I read in one of the Saitek forums that the older firmware could be a problem, but there is no way to flash it or up date the latest firmware to the X52.

I might go out and buy another newer X52 and try it to see if it makes a difference, if not I can return it.

Hopefully someone who knows more about this can jump in. Your post is kind of old an no one had yet responded, so hopefully maybe someone will jump in,

Edit: Most of all my other buttons are working though and the throttle and stick still remain functioning, just not the second pinky trigger button.
