Any suggestions for USA scenery for XPX?

Featured Replies

I already have the OSM_North America scenery,  which is very good.  Other than airports, any suggestions of good US scenery that would preserve night lighting?  Maybe photo-scenery?

Thanks,  Bruce.

I should add that KDCA is a little small for your 777, but ideal for planes like the CRJ and other regionals.

:)

Yes,  I have flown as a pax out of KDCA, that immediate left turn when departing on 01, to avoid the restricted airspace over the other side of the Potomac.... and I agree that the 777 would look very out of place there  :)

For airports, you can have a look at my map:

Of course you can find hundreds of freeware US airports at x-plane.org and some at x-pilot.com, but many of these are very old and do not look good.

Other than that, if you like to fly in big cities, you can also get photo scenery at SimHeaven:

US is so sparse. XP payware devs need to do the big B's... I imagine XP still more popular with the tube liner people. But maybe not since often RW pilots fly GA in XP.

Another topic... Is there a DIY OSM tutorial? I'd like to work on my home area of Duluth MN and the northern MN and WI.
