What warrants a topic being moved? Just someone liking to hear their whip "crack"?

Earlier I posted that some new drivers had been released. If anything relates to Flight Simulator it's the graphic setup and drivers on a personal computer. After all, we're not flying real planes here. Yet almost immediately it was removed. Why? Do I have to browse every forum to get an answer or ask a question? I find it very annoying that if something relates to the performance of flight simulator yet is just slightly on a specific topic it gets removed. I find the topic very much relates to the way my computer or video card performs within flight simulator. Can someone please explain this to me, or is it just an eager opportunity to "crack" a whip of power?I'm a new member so please excuse me if I am missing something here. Sorry if I seem somewhat disgruntled, but it's probably because I am.

Don't feel too bad about it - you're not the first - you certainly won't be the last!However- at the top of the MS Flight Simulator General Discussion Forum Page you'll see there are three seperate headings - one of which is the MS FS Hardware discussion . Graphics drivers are really hardware related even tho' they themselves are software so I can see the logic of placing posts about them there. If everything is categorised it makes life a lot easier if you're looking for a reference to something.More to the point- Have you tried the new drivers? ( Better post your answer in the correct place.) :DDave

As a new user to the system, you would not have experienced the earlier days when the forum was innundated with hardware/firmware related topics. We received tons of messages asking for forums specific to those topics to be created - there were some pretty disgruntled folks that didn't feel they had to wade through thousands of messages related to hardware to get to the 'pure' flight sim topics. Now we are in the position of having to enforce some forum discipline to keep that segregation in place (and get messages like yours as a result). In short, we can't win. :)

OH YES YOU CAN! (In my book)Thanks for the good work. None of us are perfect on either end and sometimes I may make a posterior of myself, but greatly appreciate your contribution to the Flightsim community.Respectfully:RTH

hehe, yeah, we appreciate you Tom. :-)Actually, it's sad, but I wake up in the morning and check my email, CNN, and Avsim. Thx much! A big part of my life....billg

I'm still a little puzzled on this as there was a recent post on a hardware upgrade issue that wasn't moved - just exactly what are the ground rules on this?Bruce

Bruce Bartlett

Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." Gandalf: "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."

We are not perfect. Sometimes we miss topics that should be moved (or deleted for that matter).

I can't see the point of making a fuss about a moved post. The original message will contain a link to the new post anyway.
