Best 737 Sim ??

Featured Replies

Hi,Wonder what you all consider the best 737 Sim out there..I had the 737-400 from Dreamfleet in 2002, was great, but will not work in 2004..at least that is what I have read. Soooo if you have any suggestions, please let me know..I have the PMDG installed, but sure would like to find something better. Am while I have you all here, when one saves a flight when flying the PMDG Aircraft, and comes back to it at a later date, the poor aircraft has lost most of its auto pilot settings..any solutions or should I go to the PMDG Forum ???MAny thanks to all...Jim (LONEDOVE)Mesa, Arizona

Yeah there is one much better, you can find it here http://www.cae.com/aviationtraining/trainingCentres/SimSpecFiles/Dallas_B737-NG.shtml As for any others, well just ask yourself, what other 737 NG sim has soooooooooo many awards and users? A good friend and real life pilot for Pacific Blue airlines (737 NG 800) says concerning the PMDG sim "PMDG737-800 is the ultimate civvy sim. Good enough to use to train for real world 737NG operations."http://homepage.powerup.com.au/~speedy Now for a 39.95 desktop *simulation* made for a *game* that's a pretty amazing approval and CERTAINLY no other NG simulation created for flight simulator has any such backing..........Nuff said.Best Wishes,
Randy J. when one saves a flight when flying the PMDG Aircraft, and comes back to it at a later date, the poor aircraft has lost most of its auto pilot settings..any solutions or should I go to the PMDG Forum ??? Well that's not realistic, folks cannot just save their flights in real life and come back correct? So when you say better you mean less realistic right? There is a good reason why it's like that although an unwanted one but this feature has nothing whatsoever to do with replicationg it's real world counterpart. That's not to say one does not have choice or personal desires I just think your remark is a bit odd since you throw out the complete sim for a flight simulator option. Now semantics out of the way, the reason the PMDG sim does not have this function is because of the systems creation, which by the way is 100& built no default A/P G/S LOC like you find on others which makes saving easy. It's not true that you cannot save, you can but muwst cycle the A/P etc. You can even get the FMC back going, maybe spend some time RTFM would help. The 747 will be created in such a way that this saved function will be what you are asking for.Best Wishes,
Randy J. You already have the best one....PMDG 737NG!!You could waste your money on the Ariane offering I suppose, then you really would have something to complain about.By the way...is it only me that wasn't that impressed with the Dreamfleet 737?? Maybe it's because I got it after PIC767?Anyway....good luckGlenn

Yeah I'm really curious to know what you'd like to see done "better" than what the PMDG is other than non aircraft related items like a panel state save function...

The best 737-200 is freeware www.tinmouse.org

HelloThat Tinmouse looks like a great project. Thanks for the link.Troy

>The best 737-200 is freeware www.tinmouse.orgI think he was talking about a current program, not a Beta version that is still unfinished.

>Yeah there is one much better, you can find it here >http://www.cae.com/aviationtraining/traini...mSpecFiles/Dall>as_B737-NG.shtml:) Although better, I'd like to see a price comparison. PMDG's $39.95 for the sim, or $39.95/minute for the CAE one.> Well that's not realistic, folks cannot just save their>flights in real life and come back correct? So when you say>better you mean less realistic right? :-doh Personally, hats off to the PMDG team. I'll take the PMDG model any day of the week.-Dan

As far as today PMDG rules the sky :)Nothing comes close. It's the aircraft I always comes back to after trying other aircraft.....And PMDG support is the best there is!!Johnny"I'LL BE BACK"[div align=center]http://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/josve/pmdg.jpg ][/div

I don't think its fair to compare an FS2000 era 737-400 with an FS9 era 737-NG. If DF makes a 737-400 today, (which they are doing BTW - the 200, 300, 400 and 500), then they can be compared. And I'll tell you what. I think that given the level of complexity of the ATR, their 737s will be well worth the price just as the PMDG ones. As for which would be better, we'll have to see when they are released.

Well I would not compare DF to PMDG even IF they released the updated version because they are not the same sim and it's not good taste to belittle good developers over preference. I own pretty much all new releases from flight 1 and think they are great as I do with the PMDG. Best Wishes,
Randy J. Thanks Randy for your comments,Believe me I did not wish to infer that the PMDG is not the finest sim I have owned, or that I believed there could be a better one out there, I ws mainly looking for imput as to what the sim communitys preferences were...and I kew the response would be overwhelming for PMDG !!!Thanks again for your comments,Jim (LONEDOVE)Mesa, Arizona
