September 3, 201312 yr Ages ago, i think it must have been with MSFS2002 or perhaps earlier, i had some airport scenery that included a road vehicle, an automoble with the intent to drive on the airport tarmac, i remember now, it was a follow-me car.! You could start a free flight in MSFS and select that car to drive yourself. It's funny how immersive a visit to a destination can become when you spend some time just LEAVING the airport and trying to drive to the city centre, By following the roads youll be surprised how many realistic views you can get trying to follow a high road. If you have Inssbruck scenery'(for instance), just drive on one of those high bridges and take a look at the city down there and the mountains surrounding it. This change of perspective when visiting your destination is a welcome intermezzo between long haul flights, It also reminds you of how fast a jet moves when taking off after having spent some time on the floor. there's more to see than just the airport scenery. The problem however is that the roads are very unpredictable and will convert from relatively flat to nightmare roller coaster rides. For the moment, I am using one of the MS default ultratek gliders and just try to keep speed below 60 mph and trime elevation down so to keep on the thing on the floor and use rudder to make the turnsYou will only have a chance with 'ignore crash' enabled in the realism settings. of course, it only gets better with exdock + TrackIR, just pretend you're driving a car or a motorcycle. So, how about a dedicated FSX road vehicle ? It's way more fun then using slew. Antoine v Heck --- Ryzen 5800X3D, 32Gb DDR4 RAM@1600 Mhz, RTX3090 (24GB VRAM). 2TB SSD - VR with Quest 2 via link cable

September 3, 201312 yr Author ... and there i was thinking i'd be the only one crazy enough to be fantasising to drive in FSX how foolish of me. So thanks for those links. Antoine v Heck --- Ryzen 5800X3D, 32Gb DDR4 RAM@1600 Mhz, RTX3090 (24GB VRAM). 2TB SSD - VR with Quest 2 via link cable
September 3, 201312 yr And "World Ground Traffic X" has some drivable vehicles, too - but it is a quite pricey addon, especially if you buy it only for the purpose of having those vehicles. If you like the idea of haveing better looking (and more realistic) airport vehicles, you could go for it, though. Florian
