November 13, 200421 yr Hello All, Lou informed me this morning that he has posted the Preview video I made for DF on the 727. It is on the DF site under the 727 banner in the Aircraft model section. Go to the bottom of the page to get to the video download.Hope everyone enjoys the video as much has I did making it and beening involved with this great group of people . . . not to mention that their new 727 is really Great! (just an old guys 'informed opinion') Perhaps this will tide over the many who have awaited the release of this baby.Best to allClayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. November 13, 200421 yr ClaytonThanks for the great video and the choice of music was nice too.Can I ask what kind of system you ran this on?I remember you from the CS727 forum and it seems like DF is listening to you which is to our benefit for sure.;)Thank You Troy
November 13, 200421 yr Troy,Thanks for the kind words, glad you liked it. And the DF727 is a absolute joy to fly.I have two systems, one I use to fly on and the other to make video's and such. The Video system is a bit smaller but works well.Main system:P4. 3.4 OC'd to 3.74 800 FSBASUSP4C800E MBATI 9800 (out for repair) so system is down1 gig PC3200 ram3 80gig 7200 rpm HD"S(this system is just a 'hummer' and cooks, however the vid card is out for repair and has been for a month.)Second System (which is what was used to make video)P4 2.8 no overclocking 800 FSBASUS P4c800E MBGeForce TI-4600 vid card512 pc 3200 ram1 80 gig 7200 rpm HDOn first system, I run all sliders at full right, 100 % ai and 100% clouds with AS2004.5, AC, FDC, Wide View, Manhatten scenery,USA Roads, LAGO FSSE, mesh and so on and so on.Second system, (produced vid on) 90% sliders full right, 80%ai, 100% clouds, AS2004.5, AC FDC, wide view, Manhatten scenery, USA roads, LAGO FSSE, mesh, and so on and so on.I have tons of addons in each, and both HD's for FS are identical running Windows XP. The second systems flies FS with the 727 just fine, taking just a 1/4 second or so more to load the VC than the big one does. Over Aerosofts Manhatten scenery @ 4000 feet, and frames locked at 30fps, I've seen the second system drop to 15-19 over the most crowded NYC area of Aerosofts scenery. Most any other time I'm running 25-29.9 fps. And remember, this is an old 'not state of the art' video card. This is also a beta version but it's one of the best I've seen. Also, the Reality XP weather radar seems to have no effect on the fps on this system either. When you record with FRAPS for high res, it also slows the whole system down a few FPS I've noticed, but perhaps that is because of the old card. I'd love to tell you how it runs on the new system, but the 9800 has been out for repair for over a month and I've about given up on it.Also, when you 'make' the video, and add music, it slows the whole process down a bit too. So, with the second system, which I think is now about an average CPU and below average Vid card, I could live with the 727 with no problems.FS .cfg has been modified for all the tweeks and the patch has been installed. And I can't wait to get the big system back no matter how good the second one is LOL.Hope this has been some help.Best to all and thanks for liking the video -- you'll love the aircraft.Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. November 13, 200421 yr ClayLOL thanks for taking the time to post your specs,it answered my questions very nicely indeed.Thank YouTroy
November 13, 200421 yr Troy,MY pleasure, as it is the little bit of thanks we get from making stuff like this that makes it all worth while. And I'm glad it seems the 727 will work out for your system.I can't stress enough what a great job DF has done on this aircraft. But that is what we have come to expect from quality software people like DF.BestClay http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. Dopke (Clay)Major, USAF (retired)"Drac"

November 14, 200421 yr Gee, a month to get a graphics card repaired! You must be going through withdrawls. When I spoke to ATI they told me 2-weeks max. Good thing I didn't send mine in after all.
November 14, 200421 yr Really,That's not the half of it . . . I had to send it back to who I bought it from, and THEY sent it back to ATI . . .so they say. I'm checking right now to get confirmation numbers. In truth, I'm getting to the point that I don't believe them and am going to call my CC company and see if anything can be done. Trying to be patient, but its wearing VERY thin.BestClay <-------has lock and tone on computer parts store . . .fox one!>http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. November 14, 200421 yr Me TooI downloaded the video and was wondering how big a rig it took, guess mine will do just fine. Nice flick and loved the XP weather radar. Thanks for your troubleTracy
November 14, 200421 yr Hi Drac:I'm not flying heavies right now, but I checked out the video and I must congratulate you on a fine job. And your choice of music wasso far superior over the usual associated sounds..."crash, bang, thumb thump thump" pounding. My flying right now is limited to multi engine....in particular, the Aero Commander. I tried the DHC-6 but I'm still having problems withthe spinup/spindown cycles of the engines. The ol' recips throttle back quickly...I like that.Again, thank you for your post, and the great video.Regards,Neil [email protected]
November 14, 200421 yr Nice video Drac,I can't wait for this one. I also like your choice of music, a nice change from the blaring that some use. I would also like to see more people not use music at all so we could hear the planes themselves. Or maybe fade the music out in places. Just a thought. :-) Hawk
November 14, 200421 yr Hi Hawk,Thanks for the kind words, I had a good subject matter, and great music from Thomas Newman. To mix music and FS sounds is most difficult and to do it right without tons of booming and static. I am by all means NOT an expert at this, as there are some guys out there that do this type of stuff soooooo well, I just play with it and know what I like. And get lucky.Perhaps I'll try the mixture of both next time, as I want to do a few more on the new 727.Thanks againClayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T.
