September 7, 201312 yr Captains, I would like to apply an older AIRAC cycle of navdata to the 777 than was currently provided. (Why? I want it to match with some charts I have and flight planning software that uses older navdata). I have the following questions: 1. Is it possible to use an older AIRAC from the 737NG era on the 777? Will there be any compatability issues? 2. If I wanted to come back to the original AIRAC navdata that came with the 777, how would I do that? Can I run the installer and only install the navdata? Or should I make a backup of a particular folder before changing anything... and if so, which folder(s)? I'm obliged to any of you that can help me out. I am so eager to fly this remarkable aircraft. Regards, Sam Kharey
September 7, 201312 yr It's best not to randomly reinstall perfectly good software when you want a single file. Back up the navdata (including SID/STARs?) before you change stuff. The new data is basically what you get from navigraph anyway, so when you want real data you can get it from there. I also don't know where you'd source old data from anyway? I assume you have a copy of an old AIRAC in PMDG format somewhere? or are you planning to reinstall the NGX and loose all your liveries etc? September 7, 201312 yr I think what he's trying to say is that he has something like an aerosoft navdatapro subscription which is maybe at airac1307, beens he hasnt renewed it, and that's what he also has on an EFB etc etc, so he wants the same airac in all places. Rather than having a newer one in the T7 Jason Dilley

September 8, 201312 yr the PMDG AIRAC format is the same with the NGX and 777. Try to avoid reinstalling whole applications and addons for small things as much as possible. You only get 3 activation I think before you need to submit a ticket. Backup the NavData. Remember there is Navaids data, Fixes, Airways and Airports, plus the SID/STARs folder with several thousand files for every airport with data. All of this is part of the Airac. Back up anything before you change it. This may require a backup folder of several mb. If you want AIRAC 1309 back, do everyone a favor and don't re-install the 777-200LR. If you want AIRAC 1108 back, or whatever came with the 737...Ok, if you reinstall the 737NGX you will loose all your installed liveries, saved panel states, maybe service packs if you don't install those too, and rack up another installation activation out of the 3 you have assuming you haven't been re-install happy previously. If you have backed up the old navdata but haven't backed up the SID/STAR folder you may find some of your SID/STAR selections in the FMS are from the new 1309 airac. So your old chart might say LIZZI5A arrival, and the FMS will only have LIZZI7A for instance. The amount of people latley reinstalling everything for ludicrous reasons has been pretty stunning recently. Even "I can't release the parking brake... so I formatted my hard drive, reinstalled windows, reinstalled FSX, reinstalled the 777 and I still cant release it" being answered by "remove the wheel chocks you dolt, and also reapply SP2, all your tweaks, and don't be such a moron.." http://skyvector.com/ holds Enroute Charts for the whole planet which are based on the current NavData (and will be based on the current NavData in the future when 1309 isn't current anymore). Plenty of places like http://flightaware.com (see http://flightaware.com/resources/airport/KJFK/procedures for KJFK procedures) to get SID/STAR etc charts. September 8, 201312 yr Yes it can be done. All you have to do is install the older one and it will just over write the current version
September 8, 201312 yr Commercial Member No difference between the older data and the 777's. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
September 9, 201312 yr Ryan, cannot confirm that there are no diff between older data and 777´s. Example: before 777´s installation I had Navdatapro airac1306. PAHO had runways 03 + 21. After installation of 777´s I have airac1309 with runways 04 + 22 on PAHO. As I never bought an original 1309 cycle, cannot say if this comes from Aerosoft or not.
