September 14, 201312 yr Commercial Member Is it normal for the N1 to Idol around 32% When descending? It depends. I can't remember the exact value, but it's somewhere around there and depends on if you have A/I on, etc. Kyle Rodgers

September 14, 201312 yr Completely normal and can even be higher in certain scenarios. N1 flight idle is set higher mainly to guard against a flameout in high precip weather conditions. Regards
September 14, 201312 yr Hi, It's perfectly normal, usually flight idle is rated at about 430 kg/h of fuel flow, so depending on your altitude you can also have 40% N1... Ciao Andrea Buono

September 14, 201312 yr Author Cool, I was just wondering because my old 737 program when I went to idle at all phase of flight the N1 would go to about 20-22%. Aaron Brazda.
