September 14, 201312 yr Quick question: Which is the most common state a flight crew is greeted with when they enter the cockpit, Long Turn or Short turn? Thanks, Rick Hobbs
September 15, 201312 yr From my understanding, typically if you're entering that cockpit for the first time that day (first flight, or change planes somewhere) it would be a long turn. Aircraft on ground power/ Air Conditioning (if available) ADIRU not aligned, Emergency lights off, packs off. Basically if you go through the FCOM procedures through "Securing" that's how you'd likely find the aircraft Steve Caffey
September 15, 201312 yr Commercial Member Long turn in most cases. With the pax version you might find it in short turn, as sometimes the ground crew will start up the ADIRU and get it aligning before the flight crew get on board. Best regards, Robin.
