September 15, 201312 yr I've started allowing some minimal failures on my flights but I'm unsure if they are occurring or not. Where can I go to check and see if my current plane I'm in has acquired a failure or not? Will they be listed in the Failures section of FSX during the flight as they occur?
September 20, 201312 yr Are you using the default Microsoft failures?if you are: 1. It depends on what plane you are using. Some addon aircraft don't even respond to the Microsoft failures. 2. The failures will be listed in the MS Failures menu when they occur. You'll have to look for a system that has a checkmark in the "FAILED" category. This indicates that the system has failed. I Hope I answered your question. September 20, 201312 yr Nathan is right, the inbuilt failures are a mixed bag. When addon planes use their own methods for e.g. icing or electricity (we call it alternative energy ^_^ ), you are either mixing up the whole thing or nothing at all happens. So those FSX failures are for very default planes and systems. I could think of fuel starvation or pitot failures to be quite common and usable though. As for the rest, I would force the failure to show up, no time activation, and then checkif the plane acts somehow reasonable. After a few minutes, you will have a list of what's possible and what is not. So your favourite plane then can be set up to randomly develop trouble.
September 20, 201312 yr I'd suggest 'failures to SDK-coded systems' and 'failures to custom-coded systems'. I remember FS Passengers failing a system and my aircraft wouldn't bother ... What happened to AVSIM
