September 20, 201312 yr Firstly appologies for touching on this subject again, i'm having a nightmare everytime i slightly touch my CH USB 3 lever Yoke handle my B737NGX autopilot disengages and the plane plumets to the ground, I have tried numerous times to calibrate it, but it appears to be too sensitive to movement and I have to manually centre the Yoke by looking at the lower DU (sys) to avoid any climbs or descents, wish I knew how to keep the Yoke rigidly set centred so a fair degree of pilot pressure was needed to increase climb or descent now it just seems to loose and i'm hesitant to touch the yoke for fear of disengaging the autopilot and spoiling yet another flight. I recently installed EZDOK but I don't know if any of the recommended keys to disable in FSX could be affecting my Yoke control. Any advice Pleazzzzzzzzzz!!! I'm using Windows 7 64bits Premium FSX and accelerator Many Thanks Richard Richard Coombs
September 20, 201312 yr Author Hi Could I just add I think the problem stems from the Elevators which just cannot be centered and any slight touch on the Yoke sends them rapidly Up or down when viewed on the FMC controls page In my FSX Options-Controls-Buttons by default Elevator Trim down has been assigned to Numberkey number 7 Elevator Trim Up to Numer key Number 1 Elevator Axis Y Axis Aileron Axis to X Axis Have tried to Calibrate numerous times but this has no effect on the Elevator positioning, please can anyone advice on how I can realign the elevators just bought the PMDG B737NGX yet to complete a flight so frustrating for EZDOK i was told to disable keys 1,4,3,2, A, Shift+A , S, Shift+S and the arrow keys & page up/down, I note Key 1 on the keyboard was for Elevator Trim Up and Key number 2 Pitch-up Elevator, I have uninstalled EZDOK reset defaults but still I have this problem with erratic Elevators causing the plane to nose down on the slightest touch and being impossible to centre manually. Many Thanks Richard Richard Coombs
September 20, 201312 yr Commercial Member Firstly appologies for touching on this subject again, i'm having a nightmare everytime i slightly touch my CH USB 3 lever Yoke handle my B737NGX autopilot disengages and the plane plumets to the ground, The CH Yoke has a black trim wheel on it underneath the yoke. Is this centered? Kyle Rodgers
September 20, 201312 yr Author Hi thank you yes, and just re-centered it but as soon as the yoke is moved the elevator indicator on the FMC systems page drops down unable to mantain or return to a middle position Regards Richard Richard Coombs
September 20, 201312 yr Commercial Member yes, this was centered and left well alone Okay, so not that. Are you calibrating your controls through FSUIPC, or FSX directly? Kyle Rodgers
September 20, 201312 yr Author Thank you once again, I'm calibrating through the FSX Options - Controls directly, I have the unregistered FSUIPC FSX installed. Thank You Richard Richard Coombs
September 20, 201312 yr Commercial Member Thank you once again, I'm calibrating through the FSX Options - Controls directly,I have the unregistered FSUIPC FSX installed. Still a valid question because you can do both, and you didn't mention FSUIPC, so I had to ask. Calibrating through both could cause the issues you're seeing. What happens if you disable that trim wheel axis entirely? You can put it back later, but I'm trying to rule things out for now. It's definitely a hardware issue, based on the fact that it only happens when you touch the yoke. Did you install software that it came with? indicator on the FMC systems EICAS systems page? The FMC is something you can't physically see on the flight deck. Kyle Rodgers
September 20, 201312 yr Author Hi same situation and yes everything was installed at same time indeed when the elevator was centred using the trim wheel the yoke judders back and forth definately not happy when centred sorry this seems a nightmare ! Richard Coombs
September 20, 201312 yr Commercial Member Hi same situation and yes everything was installed at same time If you installed CH Products software, make sure it's not trying to calibrate/alter/enhance your hardware's settings. indeed when the elevator was centred using the trim wheel the yoke judders back and forth definately not happy when centred So even if you disable the axis entirely (delete it) in the FSX menus, there's still an issue? Kyle Rodgers
September 20, 201312 yr Have you tried to set the the Sensitivity and Null zones in FSX? Change the Sensitivity to one third and the same with the Null zone and see if that makes any difference. Settings - Controls - Calibration and then select your CH Yoke. Set both axis to 43. Rob
September 21, 201312 yr Author Hi Rob Thank You, yes On Option-Controls Pg Aileron Axis slider to halfway position Null 45 Elevator Axis slider halfway position Null 45 Throttle Axis slider max Null nothing Keyboard sensitivities (Default) Aileron 64 Elevator 64 Rudder 64 In Options -Controls Joystick Axes I have Ailerons assigned X Axis Elevator Axis assigned Y Axis Elevator Trim Axis - no axes assigned Options-Controls - Buttons/Keys Elevator trim down keyboard num 7 elevator trim up keyboard num 1 (all default settings) Hi Kyle again thank you for your patience When I disable the Elevator Axis Y Axis the plane goes nose up and can not be levelled either trough the Joystick or Trim Wheel when Elevator Axis is restored the plane rocks up and down again Trim wheel is inefective and even when the FMC Sys pg shows elevator needle in middle position as soon as the joke is touched the indicator either goes straight up causing the nose to go straight up or straight down and nose dips and plane drops, I really just can't get control of the elevators any touch of the joke and its hypersensitive and impossible to align and keep the plane in a levelled off position or set the FMC syst pg elevator indicator line to its midline position. May I ask what settings your using as a comparison, I see by default my Elevator Trim Axis has not been assigned I wonder if this has a bearing, I have disabled/removed EZDOK but still this hasn't changed anything, disappointing! Thanks again Guys for your great support Richard Richard Coombs
September 21, 201312 yr Where have you calibrated the yoke and what are the calibrations? You mention that your Elevator Trim axis has not been assigned - assigned in what, FSX, FSUIPC,CH? Rob
September 21, 201312 yr Author Hi Rob Everything is being calibrated through the FSX Options-Controls and Elevator Trim has not been assigned in FSX Options-Controls-Joystick Axes. Tried also aligning using the trim wheel on the Yoke but as soon as the Yoke handle is moved the Elevator position indicator in the FMC shoots to the top and bottom it really is fighting being aligned. Regatrds Richard Richard Coombs
September 21, 201312 yr If you are not using FSUIPC and using FSX for your yoke, you will have to set the Elevator trim and axis in FSX. Do you have a sliding two way switch on your yoke? If you do then use this to set the elevator trim up and down in FSX. Make sure the elevator axis is assigned in the Controls-Settings Control Axes as Y axis. Rob
September 21, 201312 yr Author Hi Rob Many thanks again! Yes I have a two-way sliding switch i've assigned the Elevator Trim Up and Elevator Trim Down to that and the Elevator Axis is Y Using the Trim wheel I Have on the Yoke I try to Centre the Elevator looking at the synoptic on the FMC byt the indicator will not stay centred when I look at the rear view of the aircraft the Elevator flaps either remain fully up or down. After assigning the Elevator Trim Up and Down (not sure if this is what's supposed to happen) but after assigning those functions to the two-way switch when I press them they alter my take-off Trim and have no affect on the Elevator position, is there something else I should be doing in conjunction with deprerssing this switch? Many Thanks again Rob for giving me your time ! Richard Richard Coombs
