September 21, 201312 yr Hey Guys! Tomorrow is the day I get started on my rig assembly. First time building an FSX specific computer. Just wanted your thoughts and blessing on the hardware config. Any suggestions and tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Are you sure you have enough storage for FSX? That might be a little lean, especially when you realize performance wanes as you fill up the 120Gb SSD. You might use one for your OS, and swap the other out for a 256Gb SSD. Otherwise you can't go wrong so have fun doing a 'perfect' job on the assembly and software install. September 23, 201312 yr Are you sure you have enough storage for FSX? Agree. 120Gb is quite small for FSX. Especially if you're going to add some mesh and OrbX stuff. Also take into account you should keep 10~15% of your SSD empty. Filling it up beyond thad will cause a negative impact on performance. A system I build for a friend contains: 1x 256Gb SSD for Win7-64 + non-FS programs 1x 512Gb SSD for FSX 1x 2TB HDD for static files (photo's, documents, flightplans, etc) Regards, Frank van der Werff
