Fatal Error (new issue) when starting NGX!

Featured Replies

No idea how to fix this - betting Tabs has a clue!

Can reproduce easily.

1.  Start FSX Default flight  (Caribbean and Ultra Light)

2.  Choose KSFO airport and gate A12

3.  Select PMDG 737-700 Southwest Canyon Blue Livery

4.  After doing the 'countdown to zero' for the PMDG plane, immediate FATAL ERROR occurs (white screen) and message "FSX is restarting".

Tried:

* Ran PMDG Ops Center checked for updates - all updates including new NGX DLL file are already applied.

* Delete all PREV FLIGHTS files in My Documents/Flight Simulator X folder.

* Deleted everything in the  My Documents/Flight Simulator X directory

* Recreated default flight and restarted FSX.

* Tried to reload cold and dark panel state then exited FSX - same issue.

Nothing works except:

Actually load the Ultralight at KSFO and THEN when sitting at the gate in the ultralight, select the PMDG NGX 700 with SWA Canyon Blue livery from the top menu, no crash.

Can anyone at PMDG tell me how to fix this?

Clues:

PMDG 777 does NOT cause this crash - plane configured to start up "running"

PMDG 737NGX  DOES cause this - plane set to start up COLD & DARK

Because the two planes (NGX/T7) start up differently (one cold/dark, one 'running') could that cause this problem?  Again, I can start FSX and choose the T7 and works as expected.  ONLY the NGX is giving the trouble.  I hesitate to uninstall/reinstall the NGX because I own the base plane and the expansion pack.  Worry about re-activation.

Appreciate help, dumped 3 hours into this already :(

Thanks in advance.

When FSX has started don't "fly" with the ultralight.

If I do what you suggest, THEN I get the FATAL ERROR I wrote about.  Only by doing it 'wrong' and going to an airport with the ultralight and THEN loading the NGX, can I load the plane without crashing FSX.  Note:  This is totally NEW problem for me.  I don't know what's causing it, but I would LOVE to get rid of the problem FOREVER.

I will bet you have a controller issue. Maybe a parkingbrake or a flaps setting or something ? I have the exact same isseue when i forget to set my parkingbrake to off on my throttle. Only the NGX and not the 777 will crash so check or unplug your controls to check.

No.  This never happened to me before, I have been flying FSX for weeks on a fresh clean install.  I submitted a ticket to PMDG - so I'm waiting back to hear.  I'm certain someone else has experienced this before.  Remember, the NGX crashes, but the PMDG 777 does NOT. Thanks though!
