Hi,

 

I've recently made the jump to DX10 after realising that the new AMD catalysts drivers don't work for FSX ( Running 2x 6870s here btw ). I have also installed DX10 scenery fixer and followed the guide to using RadeonPro for AA.

 

My experience with DX10 has been rather frustrating to say the least. I'm getting less than 12fps on the PMDG T7 with Opus, GEX and REX installed. Would appreciate it if anyone can take a look at the my fsx.cfg file and let me know if there's something wrong.

Change you texture max load to 1024, 4096 is not helping with those 6800 amd cards, and make sure they are not running in crossfire mode. That actually hurts fsx

Whenever you have low FPS (and yours are very low... something is wrong), the best remedy is to rename or delete the fsx.cfg, restart fsx and let the config rebuild.  This will get rid of any tweaks.  You can then start adding tweaks one at a time if you want but most systems, like mine, can live in the fsx world without them.

Just to add another perspective, perhaps some useful information...

Here's a quick precis of what to modify in the fsx.cfg, that will bring the load down.

Tried the options above but still no joy... 7-8fps in the cockpit during bad weather and it is really unflyable. 

RadeonPro is also showing me some weird readings for my 6870. Disabled crossfire and its showing 0% usage with the occasional spike to 24%-40%

I also experience huge drop in performance since i installed the fixer yesterday. Rebuild fsx.cfg, applied neccesary tweaks, but to no avail. Hardware is Asus G750JW laptop with GTX765m graphics. For example FSDT CYVR in DX9 performs with 28+ fps on average in DX9 (maxed out scenery and AI) with DX10 i get 12 fps and below. It happens on all my sceneries with the pmdg 737 and 777. Of course fps increase with traffic to 0, but that is only by a few frames. Played around with the NI, tweaks, seems i cant hit the right spot so i went back to DX9.
