  1. maybe less time explaining on streams and videos what they plan to do more time on actually fixing and implementing patches that don't break more than they fix perhaps FS2020 will stand a better chance
  2. My experience so far is that the sim has gone backwards since launch. With every patch, more things seem to break and performance degrades further. It's absolutely appalling how Asebo can get away with this garbage in 2020.
  3. This guy is the perfect example of modern day gaming industry stockholm syndrome. Just because the practice of releasing broken games is common doesn't mean it's right and we as gamers should accept it. People like that are the reason why such garbage practices are deemed as acceptable.
  4. From my own experience, all the supposed "live" features are terribly broken currently. Live weather doesn't load accurately. Live AI bugs out with AI aircraft disappearing suddenly and appearing out of no where again Why did Asobo even market these features if they don't even work?
  5. The autopilot on the plane is broken, along with a myriad of other issues with flight model, sound, etc. Testers have complained since alpha but nothing was done by Asobo.
  6. Judging from the time they needed to produce that joke of a patch... I'm not hopeful I'm willing to put money on betting Asobo have already shifted their attention to other projects.
  7. Judging from the way Asobo pushes out updates for the sim, I am not at all optimistic for the future of FS2020 2 weeks to fix download issues is a joke when they have 100+ people in the development team. Most likely Asobo have already shifted their focus to other projects given the awful launch of FS2020.
  8. The issues mentioned in the patch log should have been fixed with a day 1 update. If it takes 2 word weeks to fix download issues, God knows how long it'll take Asobo to fix the real issues plaguing the sim Flight model, stutters, missing airports, broken mesh... The list goes on Seems like FS2020 is truly dead on arrival with little support in the future.
  9. You answered your own question. It is a joke. And the punchline comes from the people saying "it's ok they know what's wrong" Doubt Asobo will fix issues such as flight model and stutters anytime soon, if ever.
  10. Zoom in and open your eyes You'll have your answer if you're truly an aviation buff
  11. If Asobo didn't feel it was necessary to fix something that was broken for decades, it's quite clear they won't do anything about it in the future. Anyone hoping Asobo will do miracles to fix the flight model needs to face reality.
  12. other than the "Development update" on the 20th, has Asobo communicated any release date for upcoming patches or hotfixes??
  13. Anything more than a year is a miracle for FS2020. Microsoft could very well shelf this within the next 6 months and fire Asobo. Like what they did with the FSX team.
  14. We have threads like this with OP gawking over 20+ fps in the forest We also have threads trashing the sim for 30 fps in new York. Lol.
  15. While the potential is there, I doubt FS2020 will survive beyond a year due to the lack of mass market support. What I mean is that Asobo and Microsoft have primarily targeted the mass gamer market with the release of FS2020, it's clear that serious simmers are not their target audience. If FS2020 was to be a serious sim platform, Asobo would have spent more time developing a proper flight model system instead of focusing on eye-candy, which is what draws most casual gamers. However, judging from the user reviews on both steam and metacritic, it looks like most gamers can't be bothered anymore with FS2020 thanks to the numerous game-breaking bugs and installation issues. The general sense on the ground is that FS2020 is broken and not ready for release. I doubt Microsoft will continue funding this failed project for 10 years as they previously mentioned once the player numbers drop, there is just zero commercial sense to do so. The flight sim market is small and Asobo has attempted to remedy that by creating high fidelity graphics in order to draw in the gaming market. However, the poor release has left a bad taste in the mouth and it will be hard to move on from here. It's really a pity because FS2020 just had it's priorities wrong right from the onset of development. Flight simming should prioritize flying first and foremost, which Asobo has failed spectacularly. FS2020 is really dead on arrival, sadly.
  16. If I have to do all that god word not allowed tweaking again, I'll definitely stick to p3d. FS2020 is not worth spending time to tweak when majority of the issues can't be solved through config file entries.
  17. that's exactly how control columns work in aircraft lol
  18. Once the user review numbers come in for metacritic, that would more or less seal the coffin for FS2020, dead on arrival. Steam reviews have already dug the grave for it. Like it or not, these mass market sites are what matters to Microsoft and Asobo, the hardcore market is small and niche, and its clear that they aren't targeting the hardcore simmers as their primary market.
  19. Decided to take a dip with gamepass.. Performance on my system is pretty good. Averaging 35 FPS on Ultra preset at 2k resolution right out of the box without any tweaks. Zero stuttering issues so far. Gpu usage 95-100% while cpu jumps around 84-90% Ryzen 3700x GTX 1080TI 16GB DDR4 3200mhz Samsung evo 1tb ssd Acer xb271hu with gsync enabled. Sim itself is disappointing but this has been mentioned countless times by now.. At least it performs well on my system which is good news when the sim finally gets polished in the future.
  20. Good to see some honest reviews from people with real world experience It's truly an insult to aviation to call FS2020 "next gen". Simulators should go beyond eye candy, otherwise it's just another game.
  21. is this tantamount to some level of false advertising? the list of garbage put out by asobo continues to grow..
  22. Oct/Nov is still pushing it. FS2020 probably needs another year or 2 to properly iron out the fundamental issues with flight dynamics since it's clear that the current model is completely broken.
  23. For years now we've had many triple A gaming titles getting rushed through production in order to meet release dates. Often this would mean the game releases in a terrible state, filled with various game-breaking bugs and annoyances that could have been solved if the developers had more time. Examples of such releases are games like Battlefield 5, Horizon Zero Dawn on PC, No Man's Sky.. etc. Before you say "oh FS2020 is a simulator, it shouldn't be compared to those traditional gaming titles". I strongly disagree, FS2020 is still a game first and foremost. The launch of FS2020 is the epitome of this issue. It's quite clear that despite all the Alpha and Beta testing, the developers did not have the time and space needed to ensure that the sim reached a point actually worthy of release. A flight simulator with broken flight dynamics, broken camera views, buggy displays.. the list goes on. If Asobo can't even get these things nailed, then FS2020 is not a simulator, at best it's just a re-hash of Microsoft Flight, the classic arcade game which ultimately crashed and burned. Many will argue that the releases of FSX and P3D weren't perfect either. But let it be known that those releases were MUCH MORE polished than the current state of FS2020. FS2020 was released in a much more broken state than any of it's predecessors, let's make that clear.
