Passenger lands a Light Aircraft

Featured Replies

The pilot collapsed - and a passenger on only his second flight with no flying experience - lands successfully on his fourth attempt.

An excellent result.

The pilots condition is unknown.

That'll teach pilots to have the fish before a flight!

In all seriousness, I'm rather impressed. A non pilot, with no flying experience. Manages to get talked down and land an aircraft, in the dark, with no lights. There has to be a little more to this - I hardly think a complete novice would manage anything other than converting himself into a fireball.

Started 2 threads at the same time but as I said I reckon he has a well used copy of FSX at the very least!

As all licensed pilots will tell you, night flying is a different kettle of fish and many good ones have gone down due to spatial orientation the most famous being JFK jr.

The landing (bouncing hard) is text book as he would have needed to transfer his vision to peripheral to guide distance to touch down, at least that's how I remember it.

I truly increadable story if he isnt bs,ing
