Setting FSX Radios, OBSs and Autopilot Using the Keyboard Numberpad

Featured Replies

Numpad Control (NpC) allows you to control Com, Nav, ADF, Transponder, OBS and Autopilot settings in FSX using the keyboard number pad. NpC is a set of freeware LUA scripts that expand and enhance the good work of “dazz” (Dario Iriberri ) that was originally presented here http://forum.avsim.net/topic/336131-...your-keyboard/. Most entered values, such as radio frequencies, appear directly on the radio’s display as the digits are entered. NpC requires a licensed version of FSUIPC4. The zip file, NpC_v1.0.zip, containing 11 NpC LUA scripts, a quick reference guide, and an instruction manual may be downloaded from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?b2oj1qm5at3b18i . Save NpC_v1.0.zip to a temp folder, unzip it and open README-NpCManual_v1.0.pdf for installation and operation instructions. If you decide to install NpC the 11 LUA script files will need to be copied or unzipped into the FSX Modules folder.

Working well - and a $5 tablet stand puts the keyboard at a good angle for easy access.  Keyboard labeling not very fancy but effective.

We are interested to learn if / how well this works in non-default aircraft.  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like there has been almost 300 downloads of NpC so far. We would appreciate feedback on problems encountered with the program or the manual, and any suggestions for improvements.
Thx,
Al & Dan

We now have an updated version of Numpad Control - this one includes a script for entering speed for those aircraft equipped with an auto-throttle.  Speeds can be entered as IAS or Mach number.  The files are available here -

No more 'fumbling with the mouse' to try to tune your radios, set you autopilot or your OBS heading. NpC requires a licensed version of FSUIPC4 and a keyboard equipped with a number pad. The zip file, NpC_v1.1.zip, contains 12 NpC LUA scripts, an instruction manual for configuring FSUIPC and a quick reference guide.

Great update to an already fine program. It's working - with the exceptions noted below - on both default and many 3rd party aircraft.

I am having two problems:

1. I cannot use the Numpad Enter key for any input. My first choice was to use the assignments in the manual so I set Enter to parameter 11 with no luck. Assigning param 11 to the "+" key works OK.

2. Vertical Speed: whether I use the single autopilot (cycling) function or the independent  functions I have no ability to add the required "+" or "-" and so I get no input to the A/P. I have tried a few different keys, all with the same result.

What might I be doing wrong? All the other functions work as advertised. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
