Unrecoverable freeze

Featured Replies

I find it interesting that control alt delete does not work in a 777 freeze

No freezes experienced at all, or they happened when i wasn't at the sim.

I'm having the same issue. After take off, always in cruise the sim will freeze. I have no option to cycle views . The only way out is to ctrl-alt-delete and ending the program. The task manager reveals that FSX is not responding. It's ruining the whole experience. This only started after installing the 777.

This is the exact same issue I have. The simulator is frozen with the sound still running. Ctrl-alt-del is all that works. And since I installed the T7 my NGX now does the same thing when I had no problems with it before. Usually occurs about 30min into flight with no problems prior.

I have the same when using Rex textures, since tnen, I don't use REX and the issue seems not to occur.

I can fly without issues mostly, but I for one am not throwing too much at my system. Yesterday for example, I did a succesful flight from San Diego to Guayaquil. I never have problems as long as I do 'normal' things, but as soon as I start doing things like watching replays in FSRecorder, FSX will often freeze during or not too long after the replay. I noticed however that all those freezes occured on the ground just after I had started the take off roll or entered/exited the runway. Therefore I presume a likely cause is RAAS. I will try reproducing a freeze by watching lots of replays in FSRecorder, kill the RAAS process in task manager and see if FSX recovers.

Not only restricted to 777,also occurs in AXE if using 4X *I know it's not supported to run > 2x.

I found it more stable after updating VS2005 SP1 and not using REX weather engine.

i found it way stable (3 flights above 11 hours, switching views, playing with systems, no CTD) after uninstaling FTX Global. With FTX Global i was keep getting CTDs on approach every time when flight was longer than 6-7 hours..
