December 7, 200421 yr Now, I am knowing what the lady on the Gainward video card boxes is doing...she is playing with the Track IR: no hat but ... :) :)hm

TrackIR only control X and Y movement. Like mouse view.It only works in VC in FS 2004. In IL 2 it also works in external view but that is of little use... But it only works in VC view naturally because you can

December 8, 200421 yr For those of you that haven't used trackIR, I don't think you quite understand what this will do. It is not a mouse emulator- you don't lean forward to zoom in, and then sit up straight to stop zooming. You don't turn your head and then straighten it to stop turning. It is more like taping a 3D mouse on your head. If you turn your head to look at a map, then why do you care what's on the monitor? You're not looking at it! As soon as you turn your head back, it tracks your head, and your view is back. The old way could be a bit ackward, I fully admit- It required you to keep your head centered in order for the view to be straight. Moving your head, even not turning it, would cause the view to be turned. I found myself constantly pressing the center button. This new way will allow you to slump in your chair a bit, and as long as you are looking straight, the view will be straight, but you will be slumped down in the VC a bit. That's cool. If you have a multiple monitor setup that can do spanning, you could have your VC spanned across three monitors, but turn off the x,y,z turning feature, and only use x,y,z slewing, so effectively you would have a 3D cockpit. That is my ultimate goal.Of course I'm excited, but I'm REALLY hoping this will work like they say it does.
December 8, 200421 yr Author Well with this new 6dof version you do zoom in when looking ahead and you do lean when leaning your head and everything :) Quite different from old thrusty TrackIR.The potential is awesome to say the least.I really hope that they are not lying that the center button is a memory of the past. That do kill the immersion factor almost down to pre TrackIR era. Though it
December 9, 200421 yr Add to that $60 for shipping to my country and you know I must be keen (or stupid)!
December 9, 200421 yr Well, I have been pretty much against this Vector Expansion, not because of the product but because of the cost.Well..........I just went and watched that new video and pre-ordered one. WOW. That thing is amazing!!!!!!!!!Damn you, Par!!!! :-lol Ark -------------------------- I9 9900K @ 5ghz / 32GB G.Skill (Samsung B) / Aorus Master Mobo / EVGA GTX 2080Ti FTW 3
December 9, 200421 yr I purchased a TrackIR 2 a few months before the TrackIR 3 came out. I love it, and it is indispensible for FS9 and IL-2, but there is no way I can justify another $110 for the v3 plus $50 for the vector expansion (which is $50 for a hat that they normally sell for $20 but with some sort of plastic clip). They should really make some sort of upgrade offer for their current customers.

Yeah pretty cool indeed perhaps I can start to fly the CS 727 now that I can zoom in and walk around the cockpit to find all switches. And more important read the VOR displays more easily. I have active camera so I can use my zoom wheel but not as intuitive and I would need it for other tasks. Not to say you don
