[old] LINDA 1.14b - joysticks optimization patch

LINDA 2.5 is now the recommended version!

Hello friends,

Here is the BETA of next LINDA patch: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15957127/linda-1.14b-patch.zip

The one and only purpose of this patch is to make LINDA more stable and responsive in working with HID devices. Current version could miss some keypresses if they're comming too fast in one queue and there is a noticiable delay between keypress and actual commad exection. This new patch tries to eliminate these issues, but I'm not sure if it will work right on your systems, so let's test it.

The optimal conditions for fastest response are:

  • FSX Sync is ON - this one is essential!
  • LINDA GUI window is minimized - this one is optional (influence is low)

Otherwise you should also see some speed up and more stability in commands exection, but the best results will be with conditions specified.

Please share your results in this topic and don't forget to backup your files before applying the patch.

Hello Artem,

FSX Sync is ON - this one is essential!

What does that mean? Do I have to activate this somewhere?

I can't see such an option?

I mean this:

It's normally ON (highlighted) but could be switched off manually.

In the PMDG NGX Elevator trim is glitching like crazy, it will not stop moving, even reassigning isn't helping.

EDIT: Reloading the Lua Engine stops it, but the moment you press the button it starts freaking out again.

If I assign to the none repeating option it doesn't freak out but this isn't very useful for trimming as you have to press the button many times.

Edit: added NGX to first sentence I forgot to say that sorry.

Cheers, Andy.

That was discussed earlier - LINDA's "repeating" code doesn't work smooth because of Lua scripting nature. I use FSUIPC assignment for trim.

But I will check this exact issue later (much later - over a month, because I'm going to have a long trip next week).

It was working fine in the previous version on my system and always has done.

Understand. So, that's the new version bug... will check it, when I'm back.

Just to confirm its all repeating button commands that are broken, its not just the NGX. I have a command setup for the Dodosim 206 helo for the engine starter that uses the repeat while held function and that is broken too, so presumably all repeating functions are no longer working. Have a nice holiday and I'll revert to the previous version for now then.

Cheers, Andy.

Andy, check this new exe: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15957127/LINDA.zip

I fixed one issue I found about repeating actions - now they stop properly.

Upd:

Patch archive is also updated with fixed exe.
