I'm not sure how I feel about trying to replicate the massive global effort being brought to bear upon the devastation and misery that is the Philippines. After all, flight simulation is relatively silly entertainment when you consider the predicament that the Philippine people are enduring.  Let's tread lightly and give the respect to the dead and injured that is deserving.

Frankly, I did not enjoy watching your images, Aharon.  Not because they weren't technically or aesthetically appealing, or your heart was in the wrong place, but because I knew that behind each image represented, there were thousands of actual families that have been forever changed by this horrific display of mother nature.

Let this thread exist alone as our useless tribute to those poor people that could really use some actual help.

Well IRF7700,

Lots lots of virtual airlines are organizing relief aid flights to Philippines.  Also it is not uncommon for many FIR divisions of Vatsim to organize relief flights to a country's area affected by natural disaster and set up links to charity organizations for money donations during the flight events.

Some people think it is bad idea  Some people think it is good to show moral support for country affected by natural disaster. By flying relief aid flights on Vatsim to Philippines, we are showing moral support by thinking about this country.

What I am doing is to show moral support in right heart for the country affected by natural disaster. When Haiti had tragic earthquake,  I flew on Vatsim 17 relief aid flights to Haiti to show support for Haiti and also Vatsim organized one event to Haiti with hyperlink to Red Cross for money donation for earthquake relief aid for Haiti.

You gave the answer yourself, Aharon:

I must admit, Aharon, as Dennis stated it feels somehow peculiar to watch flightsim screenshots about a virtual Philippines relief flight.

But your reasoning is sound and I'm not aware of a genuine 'Help the Philippines' topic here on AVSIM. Your thread here seems to be the only one around that reminds us of the human tragedy that has taken place there.

Now, as we know your intentions, please keep us posted ...

What happened to AVSIM

Does it mean I cannot make more screenshots of my more relief aid flights to Philippines?

Aharon

Aharon,

Please feel free to post as you desire.  That was my own personal opinion, and I should have made that more clear.

People donate money, goods or fly there to help (in real life). Flying in the sim contributes nothing... I pretty much agree with Dennis.

Olli4740 is correct

Adi,

I guess you did not read my posts carefully explaining

Your words "flying in the sim contributes nothing" is way  way wrong.  Besides offering lots of moral support via flying on Vatsim, many virtual airlines as well as Vatsim and IVAO  organize many flying events requesting donations for countries affected by natural disaster.  Even a famous sim magazine PC PILOT organize charity flying events on Vatsim too.

Here are some of past examples as seen below. I can find more examples for you.
