November 22, 201312 yr with the shadows/lighting I am curious if P3D 2.0 will have that same effect as MS Flight had where the sun would suddenly come over the hills and almost blind you. I really loved that mission where you had to find that kayaker (or whatever you call him) and you had the sun at your back, sometimes peeking over the mountain ridges, throwing shadow and light in the VC, showing scratches on the window... I doubt if P3D will offer that, at least not right away. And also that er... morning fog that used to creep and move around your plane. Will P3D 2.0 have that? Man, that was great. I also hope P3D will be MS Flight and FSX joined together. But then even better! (I wasn't too excited about the MS Flight scenery, I have to say. I think FTX Global will look a lot better in P3D 2.0 than MS Flight.)

I also remember flying late afternoon in broken cloud, it was raining with the water droplets streaming by, and then the sun would pop out behind a cloud and you were blinded. The scratches on the plexi glass would show, and it would just be 'one' of those moments. With the new dynamic lighting in P3D I'm hoping that it will have similar effects. The fog! You never know. I hope so. Soon, cloud shadows. Wow. The immersion factor is so very important. FSX didn't have any of the above immersion factors. It made up for it in other ways. AI, cars, RWW, dare I say it... ATC. Flight, had visual immersion in bucket loads but, because it lacked other things the visuals exacerbated how dead the world was. I know I'm saying the same thing again, but the marriage of visuals, great scenery and a world that feels alive, should be a great recipe. Lets hope its a WOW beginning.
November 23, 201312 yr Yeah, in FSX I never had the idea the sun was shining. Not even on a sunny summer day. Things would always look clouded somehow. I really hope P3D will change this. Shadows will help a LOT, I am sure!
