Wave animation, does it work?

Featured Replies

Does the wave animation work?  I have sliders full right for everything, I deleted the shaders and let P3D rebuild them and I still don't seem to have any wave animation.  Not the waves on the shore, I already know they don't exist.  The water ocean waves Is what I'm concerned with.  Which files control the waves, maybe I can replace them with my original backup.

Thanks for any insight on this.

Hey Jim,

Do you have water detail set to Ultra? I have mine set to Ultra and yes, they do in fact work.

Yes I have it set to Ultra.  I think I have something bad going on here but I can't figure it out.  The sim crashed on me once and I'm thinking it may have corrupted something.

Hmm...Could it be under special animations? If you threw everything to the right (save for traffic and such) as I did, the animations should be showing.

Also, what might work is resetting your default flight. Save a different one than presently set, and see if that works.

There is nothing wrong. You need to have some level of wind. The stronger the wind, the more intense the waves will be.

For full effect you need mesh set to 1m.

Thanks guys!  Water on Ultra, Special Effects on High, Mesh at 1m, Wind at 24kts and sitting on beach . . . it does work!  Not sure I like the effect though.  Thanks again for your help!  Now I can move on to something else.
