November 27, 201312 yr Hi, I am new at pmdg 777 and i have a problem. I cannot pass 330 knots because when i do aircraft is overstressed. So how can i increase overspeed speed limit? Thank you.
November 28, 201312 yr Hi Not to be rude but I suggest you take the tutorial flights. It could be anything, altitude, weight etc. Also, don't want to sound like a mod but you need to sign your posts otherwise they will delete your posts. Brent Lewis
November 28, 201312 yr Author Thank you but this situation is regardless from altitude, weight, etc. Because the limit doesn't change even if airplane is fulled or my altitude is 1000 feet or 30000 feet.
November 28, 201312 yr Commercial Member Semih, take some time to study the differance between IAS,TAS and ground speed Rob Prest
November 28, 201312 yr Author I know generally what ias, tas, ground speed is. If i change setting in fsx from true speed to indicated speed or opposite, limit doesn't change. Mostly what is your upper speed limit?
November 28, 201312 yr Commercial Member VMO is 330kts MMO is .87 Obviously density altitude has an effect. What are you trying to achieve? The aircraft is simulated correctly. save yourself the frustration and do a bit of studying. Rob Prest
November 28, 201312 yr So how can i increase overspeed speed limit? You don't. Fly the aircraft as it was intended within it's limitations, or use a different addon. PMDG models the plane after the real aircraft. They didn't include "cheat" options. You can still fly at 330+ knots, but will have to deal with the over speed warning depending on your altitude. The only way to "disable" the over speed warning is to fly slower. AJ Pongress
November 28, 201312 yr I know generally what ias, tas, ground speed is. If i change setting in fsx from true speed to indicated speed or opposite, limit doesn't change. Mostly what is your upper speed limit? What are you seeing as your True Airspeed (TAS) in the Navigation Display (ND)? You will rarely if ever go over @320 Indicated Airspeed, but above about 30,000 ft you should pay more attention to Mach. At higher altitudes your IAS will be below 300 but your Mach will be @ 0.84 and your TAS will be @ 490. Mike
November 28, 201312 yr Author Thank you for all who replies to me. I watched real cockpit videos and i realized that i completely misunderstand speed. I know that what i see there as speed is completely different than i thought.
November 29, 201312 yr Hey Semih, just to let you know in case you're not familiar with the V and M speeds stated above, Vmo is your Maximum Operating speed (in knots, like you read on the speed tape on your displays), and Mmo is Maximum Operating Mach number (becomes more relevant when you get really high in the air, 30,000-31,000 feet and higher (what we refer to as FL300 and FL310 respectively, FL meaning "Flight Level") So Vmo 330 means the plane isn't supposed to go past 330 knots on your display, by design! ^_^ Luc Arsenault
