long long long fs load times

Featured Replies

You just cut the aircraft from your aircraft folder you don't use and created a folder somewhere else and pasted them in there, does that cause no errors etc?Paul.

My FS takes about 70 and 90 seconds on my desktop and laptop respectively between double clicking on the icon and sitting on the ground at KSEA in the 172. A fresh install of FS without FS global, lots of add on planes and UT AI loads much quicker, but it is also much more boring. ;) I just accept it now.Gary

---------------------------------------------You just cut the aircraft from your aircraft folder you don't use and created a folder somewhere else and pasted them in there, does that cause no errors etc?---------------------------------------------No errors at all :) It works really well:1. You are not "losing" any planes, you are just moving them.2. Just plonk them back into the Aircraft folder if you want to fly them....shunt them in and out as required.

I will try this. very helpful

Yes give it a try...to make it more efficient (and easy to find your planes) use this structure:Aircraft Hanger -Addon Aircraft :)

Do i create those folders with in the main aircraft folder or outside of it?Paul.

Paul-You can create them anywhere but I suggest you create them outside the FS9 folder entirely. For example:c:Airplane Hanger orc:Program FilesAirplane Hangeretc...These folders have nothing to do with FS9 and the program will not even know you have created them. All it cares about is what is in your FS9/Aircraft folder :) If a plane/s are there it will read & load them, if not...it doesnt care (and your load-times will reduce!)Hope that helps! And as always - back up your planes to DVD or CDs!
