I'm considering getting some megascenery states at the chrisrmas sales, mainly Florida and the Washington DC areas.In the past, i've noticed bad frame rates in the NY city areas.How do the areas I mentioned fare with regard to frame rates.

Megascenery is photoscenery, so there is no negative impact on frame rates ... maybe even a positive one!

 

Bad frame rates in those regions are due to the greater number of big airports and their respective AI traffic (also a no. of popular scenery/airport addons could pile up there, putting some burden on your system).

 

No, don't blame the photoscenery.

As answered by Olli above, the MSE textures will have no negative effect on frame rate. Almost always the effect will be an improvement in frame rate as the autogen (primarily) is disabled over photoreal areas.
