Does anyone only fly from where they last landed?

Take a Bus? Not me. A train, when you can take a plane? Not me..... Why take any other mode of transportation from anywhere you can land?Especially in the FS, its even cheaper, and more fun?

Fly from where I last landed? Most of the time I get so engrossed with the scenery that I run out of time and have to quit FS before I've had a chance to land! :-lol Victor

>I also enjoy reading about trips real world pilots have done ->the sort of thing where a few friends have got together and>flown off somewhere together for one or two weeks' holiday. >If possible I fly the routes they have taken and when I land>anywhere I use the Internet to look up about that place as if>I were there for real. It add a great deal of interest to my>hobby.>>Oh - and yes, I always start my next flight from where I have>previously landed.>>David At 75 Ive been lots of places by Car, Motorcycle, Bus, Train, and in aircraft of various kinds. To every National Park in the US, and many state parks camping. On a Motorcycle for over ten years drove over 67,000 miles a year, working three weeks, taking three weeks off. One trip was 9,723 miles... Today when flying the FFS I go places where Ive been in real life. Its cheaper, and reminds me of all the fantastic times my wife and Ive had in the past 40 years. When you marry someone who was a "Best Friend" first, because we had so much in common, you have a fantastic marriage. It also gets a lot of conversations started, when she asks me, "Where are you flying today?" I hit pause, tell her, and then we wind up talking about the trip, sometimes pulling out the album of photo's from the trip. I've had a LOT of good friends over the years, but none as good as my wife, or one who had as much in common. We do everything together, even like to read the same books. Bob

>Don't always fly from where I last landed but every new>aircraft I buy or DL gets the same first flight - KTUS-KPHX Thats a great flight! Its also a good one, to take off from KPHX just as the sun's peeking over the mountains, and head for KTUS or KSNA, and KFUL... In a Kingair, the sunrise colors last much longer . . . as it tries to catch up with you. Bob

> However, I've simply can not simply leave any a/c "hanging in the air" and quit. I've got to land it somewhere, anywhere actually! ;) Well, with my first version of FS, a licensed friend told me, "The hardest part of flying, is landing, and all pilots practice, and practice landings." Sooo, after flying the pattern enough to do it well, decided to practice 20+ landings each time I loaded the FS... That took too long, so saved a flight on Downwind... Then, set it for the default. Each time I'd load the FS, would make a landing, click to reset the flight, and repeat. When I'd get bored with the area, would pick a new airfield and do the same. It was surprising how fast my landings improved, until I could come very close to the centerline on touchdown, irregardless of the crosswinds. But, still haven't set it down on the centerline, with a 35kt + crosswind. Can you even land a real C182 with a 35kt crosswind? Bob
