December 28, 200421 yr Hello,Just a sim pilot here. I am learning to fly the DF727 - a really intense sim for me. To practice, I am flying freight flights of about 500nm. I had a problem with cockpit alarms until I realized that I was avoiding Press'n Control.I am fine in setting up the pressure settings from ground to cruise alt. My question is - as I descend in stages, do I have to reset the aircraft altitude control to each new setting or is it OK at the highest setting so long as the cabin alt is lower than the cruise alt.Sorry if this is confusing!!!!Thanks in advance and happy flying,Ron SagelNear KCHS
December 28, 200421 yr I haven't had any problems just leaving it on "AUTO" setting and leaving the cruise alt at the higher number on descent. It does seem to push the pressure differential into the yellow range on the dial sometimes, but I'm not sure if that's a problem or if that is normal. The first flight I did with it, I had a weird problem with the pressurization system spontaneously clicking over from "AUTO" to "STANDBY" and slowly depressurizing the cabin until the altitude warning horn woke up the flight engineer. :) After that, I haven't had that happen.I am absolutely in love with this airplane. It is amazing, the easiest and funnest big jet to fly I've ever tried in FS2004, freeware or payware.Lewis "Moose" GregoryColumbia, South Carolina Lewis "Moose" Gregory Durham, North Carolina
December 28, 200421 yr Ron; The answer is no...you just set the initial cruise altitude in the controller and leave it. That setting tells the controller how to manage the cabin climb. If, for example, you were climbing to FL210 on a fairly short leg, by setting that level in the press controller, it "knows" not to start the cabin climbing because it can/will keep the cabin at sea level (or arrival field elevation, if higher) without exceeding the max diff press. OTOH, if you set FL350 in there, it will start the cabin coming up because the final cabin alt will end up around 6000 feet. So in the time it takes the aircraft to climb to FL350, the cabin does a smooth steady climb to 6000 ft. It's probably not bad technique to change the controller setting if you climb from your initial cruise level, but most of the effect of the cruise setting in the press controller has already played out by that time. I'm sure that with an FE sitting there he's going to dial in the new cruise alt...after all, what ELSE does he have to do at cruise? :-)CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Washington, DC Bob Scott | President and CEO, AVSIM Inc ATP Gulfstream II-III-IV-V Sys1 (MSFS20+24/XPlane12+11): AMD 9800X3D, water 2x240mm, MSI MPG X670E Carbon, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, nVidia RTX4090FE Alienware AW3821DW 38" 21:9 GSync, 2x4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2x2TB Samsung 990 SSD, EVGA 1000P2 PSU, 12.9" iPad Pro Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, TCA Airbus Sidestick, Twin TCA Airbus Throttle quads, PFC Cirrus Pedals, Coolermaster HAF932 case Sys2 (P3Dv5/v4): i9-13900KS, water 2x360mm, ASUS Z790 Hero, 32GB GSkill 7800MHz CAS36, ASUS RTX4090 Samsung 55" JS8500 4K TV@60Hz, 3x 2TB WD SN850X 1x 4TB Crucial P3 M.2 NVME SSD, EVGA 1600T2 PSU Fiber link to Yamaha RX-V467 Home Theater Receiver, Polk/Klipsch 6" bookshelf speakers, Polk 12" subwoofer, 12.9" iPad Pro PFC yoke/throttle quad/pedals with custom Hall sensor retrofit, Thermaltake View 71 case, Stream Deck XL button box Sys3 (DCS/P3Dv4/ATS/ETS): AMD 7800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon, Noctua NH-D15S, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, EVGA RTX3090 Alienware AW3420DW 34" 21:9 GSync, Corsair HX1000i PSU, 4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus, TM TCA Officer Pack, Saitek combat pedals, TM Warthog, TM RS300 FF wheel/pedals, Coolermaster HAF XB case
December 28, 200421 yr Hello,Thanks for the detailed info! I agree with a previous poster - this is the best "big iron" sim I have and is by far the most engrossing to learn to fly - so far for me!!!Ron Sagel
