Hi, I'm just adding to this if I may because of what happened today going IFR to Strasbourg with the 70. At 13000ft ATC has me descend to 10000ft, but will the plane co-operate? No -a descent rate of about 300fpm leaves me 4000ft above the runway calling a missed approach! and then to add insult to injury I am directed off into the low hills and told to descend to 3400ft which the plane tries to do very slowly and as I'm about to crash the Voice says Pull up, Pull up. So that was yet one more crash against the Lemonadedrinker- caused by ATC and the plane I feel! As well as which it has no vc so it's gone to Arizona to sit in the desert and be used for spares.

You're right and I apologise for an irrelevant reply!! Although as an after thought neither the plane nor the Voice could have known how high we were to refuse to descend at a reasonable rate!- as ATC kept asking me to expedite my etc etc and as regards the not taking over I was interested to see what would happen after the missed approach and the proximity of the hills into which we sailed so serenely. My point I think was that even though it's a fine model it does have quirks and so does ATC, but it's the Voice that finished it for me. Even coming in for a normal landing it squawks at you.

Er, you do know that you can quite easily adjust the vertical descent rate, right? The initial value for V/S is set in the aircraft.cfg, but it may easily be increased/decreased on the AP as you would in a real a/c.Alternatively, you could simply edit the aircraft.cfg entry to change the initial value... ;)default_vertical_speed=1800.0

Actually, this plane flies quite well, looks great, and comes with lots of liveries, and it's a shame it's spoiled by these voice callouts. Surely, there must be some way to simply eliminate them by modifying the panel or aircraft cfg files? If not, is there a .wav editor that can change the volume of the affected sound files to zero?Dale

Hi there. A little more on the descent rate- it has a default of 1500 in the read-out and started to descend at that rate but after a few seconds would change it's mind and smooth out to a 300 fpm type descent rate. The read-out wouldn't change and never mind what I dialled in or how much I slowed the plane it would just carry on and sail over the airport! Even by dialling in -3000ft!! it would still keep to the same gentle downward rate after a few seconds of something exciting.:-roll
