Ground Texture Problems with X800 and FS9

Featured Replies

Hi all, I posted this over at the Hardware Forum but dut to the lack of a response, I decided to ask for help here. I recently acquired a new system (P4 3.0 Ghz, 1 g DDR Ram, Xp Pro(sp2), ATI X800 Pro, Msi mobo) mainly for running FS9. However, I am experiencing strange ground textures with Fs9(update installed). The textures are blurry and blue in places (similar to light blue water textures). I have tried different drivers, different ATI control panel settings, different FS settings, all to no avail. Performance-wise, the card performs like a dream with exceptional framerates. Please note that I have not installed any additional add-on scenery or landclass. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. I am currently using the 4.12 drivers. Thanks in advanceJ.C. (MYNN)

Hi!found this "older" topic while searching for my problem which is similar.I got a Dell P3.2 with the ATI Radeon X800SE installed. The problem came up with the FS update to 9.1 and Radeon drivers higher than CAT 4.8.The texture filtering does not work anymore (-> all textures of aircrafts and ground/scenery).The only solution seems to be using CAT 4.8 or not to use the FS 9.1 update. I decided to still use CAT 4.8.Any further suggestions to this strange behaviour? Thanks Volker

Try removing the existing drivers with the Cat uninstaller utility from ATI. http://www.ati.com/support/driver.htmlThen try the latest drivers. Try the driver version without the Catalyst Control Center.
