December 27, 201312 yr Although I have made sure Active Sky Next (ASN) was given proper rights/ownership, I still received the following StackHash error message. If I disabled ASN and used the fsx real weather program, no problems whatsoever. I am looking for a solution. This may be a firewall access violation or there is a problem with the ASN server. December 27, 201312 yr Author Thanks Jess. It's a major problem according to the Unofficial Active Sky Forum. The fix for the ASN error is here - http://forum.avsim.net/topic/429211-active-sky-next-bug/#entry2880653. I looked in my firewall security settings and do not see anything to change. It does not make sense that a "layman" computer operator would have to do major operations to their firewall security so ASN would work. I will also check the smooth winds setting in the FSUIPC. December 27, 201312 yr Author Hi Jim, I was getting the same error with ASN. Turned out I had 'smooth winds' selected in fsuipc. Unchecked the box and now all is well. Jess B I checked my FSUIPC and "wind smoothing when airborne" was greyed out and checked. All other boxes were unchecked. I unchecked the greyed out box too. December 27, 201312 yr Author Okay. The solution to uncheck wind smoothing in FSUIPC is the fix. Thanks to Jess B. Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! December 27, 201312 yr Commercial Member My pleasure Jim. I only noticed it when in flight, the wind had stuck on the aircraft display. Best wishes, Jess B
December 31, 201312 yr Hi Jim, I've had the same message after FSX freezed during a descend with a PMDG 737NGX. Since using ASN all my flights freeze which is indeed very frustrating. All solutions as described in the linked post were checked by me and didn't cause the freezingproblem. I didn't make use of FSUIPC but installed a registered version after reading the posts above. With the use of FSUIPC (unchecked all boxes) I could make my first full flight while ASN was running (Live mode). Hopefully HF will fix this very annoying problem soon. When they succeed ASN will be my number 1 addon. Best wishes too, Albert W
December 31, 201312 yr Author Hopefully HF will fix this very annoying problem soon. When they succeed ASN will be my number 1 addon. Glad it worked for you too Albert. Thanks for posting. The developers are aware of the issue and working on a solution, possibly with Pete, the developer of FSUIPC. I looked in the FSUIPC.log after each flight session and saw the following lines: 343 Wind smoothing may be by ASN, not FSUIPC, if it is running343 Will switch smoothing action when ASN starts/stops Sort of confusing as I have turned off all wind smoothing. It is great to be able to fly a complete flight now without a freeze/crash. I have tried it even in the nastiest of weather (which has been hitting the Northeast). December 31, 201312 yr Jim, thanx for replying. The weird thing is that I didn't use FSUIPC before. I'm curious what causes this freezing problem. Kind regards, Albert
December 31, 201312 yr Author That is weird. In any case, it's working with FSUIPC installed and wind smoothing disabled. Gremlins! January 1, 201412 yr Today I got the above mentioned error message again (two times) after FSX freezed up on me again. I did use FSUIPC now with wind settings unmarked so that wasn't helpfull. When I looked into the ASN export log I saw the log stopped at the point where ASN wants to load the Auto load simulator flight plan. Since I didn't make a FSX flightplan ASN couldn't find anything and then the Stackhash error message occured. Don't know for sure if that was the cause of the freeze but in my humble opinion it's interesting enough to post. Needless to say I unmarked Auto load simulator flight plan in ASN. Also I've set all turbulence settings to 0 (also maximum cloud turbulence). Since then I've made two heavy data loaded flights with no freezes whatsoever :-) Next flight I'll to increase turbulence settings in ASN to exclude the freez wasn't caused by the decreased turbulence settings. Kind regards, Albert
January 1, 201412 yr Author Thanks for your input. I got the StackHash_7333 plus the ASN error today so everything I have stated above is wrong and it does not fix the problem. It did work great for my flights between KIAD and Charlotte. I was getting crashes on that route 100% of the time but with the fixes with the fsuipc and the take ownership fix, the crashes stopped. Then today I fly from Chicago to St Louis and, about 70 miles from St Louis, the StackHash and ASN crash/freeze/lockup (whatever anyone wants to call it). It's frustrating. It's not happening to everyone though so it's a computer setting or FSX setting that I have that is causing the crashes. I'm was going to remove ASN but will leave it but use the default weather server. EDIT: I tried another flight between Chicago and St Louis after my system "fixed" a problem with my network communicating through the firewall. No problems. I have now added ASN to the "Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall" (Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Firewall). I recommend others do the same to see if this fixes your ASN crashes. Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! January 2, 201412 yr Author Did you get the message as stated in OP? Otherwise you need to post in the Unofficial Active Sky Forum (or I can move your post there). The log above means you might have a problem with SimConnect. It's not the same as the original post (OP). Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! January 3, 201412 yr Because of the freezes while using ASN this morning I decided to try a different approach (no flying approach ;-). I was getting the feeling the freezes maybe were memory related. Therefore I made some changes : - increased Windows VM from 8G to 12G (Rig has 2 X 4G); - increased mem speed to 1866Mhz in BIOS (was 1333); - turned off HT in BIOS; - changed ASN settings back to default but unmarked autoload Flightplan; - removed Affinitymask setting in FSX.CFG Overall I notice a significant increase of renderspeed while using ASN. Now I was able to make 3 flights in a row without these freezes. One of the flights was EHAM to EGLL with a lot of bad weather/turbulence (live weather this afternoon). No stuttering whatsoever :-) By the way... I use FSUIPC latest version with letter b. Regards, Albert
November 8, 201411 yr I am not having any problem with Foxx but do have a problem with P3D. I installed ADN on the hard drive where I have my scenery installed. For P3D The program looks like it is working correctly. When P3D starts I get the attached error message. ASN cannot control ambient weather parameters correctly, thus it cannot function properly at this point and will shut down
