January 1, 201412 yr I like flying in the northern hemisphere and recently downloaded the new HD mesh. Tried a couple of airports: CYLT, Alert Canada is on water and no scenery around ENSB, Svalbard airport Longyearbyen is floating in water as well, with weird looking scenery around. Is it just me or has anyone the same experience? Torfi
January 1, 201412 yr Hi Torfi, are you sure you selected these regions on the X-Plane install? You can select and deselect regions when first installing XPX to minimize the amount of disk space. I only have parts of Europe with my installation. That could be why you are seeing only water and runways and no terrain in that part of the world. Rhydian

I even deselected the areas and reinstalled them but problem persists. I'ts been a long time since I went so far up north and I seem to remember this was OK back then. Might have gone all wrong during one of the updates of XPX..? Torfi

Maybe the install of the HD global scenery could be causing the issue? Rhydian
January 1, 201412 yr If I remember correctly X-Plane's default scenery only goes to 74º N whereas CYLT is 82º N. Most of Svalbard is also north of 74º. I don't know how far north the HD scenery extends. I believe there was 3rd party Svalbard scenery on the x-plane.org download manager so perhaps it's worth searching there.
