January 2, 201412 yr Hello everyone, For some days I experience some black sky in daylight. What I do before flying, I upload the FP in AS2012 to install weather textures, close it, open ASN then FSX. I don't have any shader thing installed as far as I know. I googled that I found many posts about that shader thing being guilty. I had a look at /FSX/ found something called shadersHLSL, and inside, found a file called "Swarmcloud .fx.before ASN.". Could that be the origin of that thing ? Some more information: clouds are there (white/grey), when I change location with new textures, day is there. So this appears to be random, and maybe influenced by textures changes. Thanks for your help.

January 2, 201412 yr Hi Not sure if this helps, But I am suffering from the same thing, when I look certain ways from the cockpit the sky turns to night! I have a Nvidia gtx 770 and I did run the ASN trial but did not purchase so all files have been deleted. The thing is the water setting in FSX if you have it set at Midx2 the sky goes black if you set it higher the last two setting it does not happen... cannot think why this is linked to the sky! I have tried reinstalling textures for sky and removing old textures but alas nothing even tried clearing the shaders no nothing...so if anyone has had this issue and can advise I would be grateful. Oh if your using the Bufferpools tweak then you should have the water set high for it to work! don't ask why FSX is a strange old bit of software!! all the best
January 2, 201412 yr Recommend you force a rebuild of your shaders. When FSX was run the first time, a cache was created under the C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\FSX folder. It contains a sub-folder called Shaders (some systems may have an additional folder called Shader10) in which instructions and codes that are frequently accessed by FSX are stored. Every time FSX is run, contents of the cache will be optimized further to improve overall system performance. However, this cache is prone to be messed up when settings of fsx.CFG are changed or system is toggled between DX9 and DX10, etc. To fix the issue, go to the folder mentioned above and delete everything inside the folder. The cache will be refreshed and rebuilt the next time FSX is run.
