Skies at Amstedam.

Hey guys,

Some new shots when flying on Vatsim at Amsterdam.  please do comment on the lightning as I am using SweetFX and I feel Luma Sharpen is a bit too high.

The second one is somewhere North of Seppe airfield.

I would agree, and say the images look oversharpened.. and a bit oversaturated too [for my taste]. Too much sharpening can make edges look even more jagged, if AA is low, and cause a bright fringe around objects etc.

The scenery and skies looks very nice though.

Hi,

You asked for an opinion in one of the other forums, just want you to know I'm not a graphics guy so I don't know what optional changes you have at your disposal.  Most of my real world flying takes place along the Eastern United States, as far South as Miami and as far North as Boston.

For the U.S. there should be more of something, the sky is to clean. Something like smog, haze, mist type effect maybe, but I couldn't tell you how to add that type of look to the sim. Although you will get sharp clear days during the winter months here in the states, I'd have to say 70% of the time it should not look that clear, clean, crisp between clouds. Well, not at FL anyway.

Wish I could be more help.

To be fair, the Netherlands does look like it is oversaturated in real haha. Liking the NL2000 action!

Hi Mike,

Thanks for replying, nah it was not from the graphics point, just how it should be closest to the real thing.

Making some changes and and will be posting later.

Thanks

At the end on the day, you must go with what you feel looks right, regardless of other peoples views. There is no real right or wrong with atmospheric conditions, unless you push things way too far... I like a more muted look, but if you like more colour, or very crisp, sharp edges, then go for it!..
