January 14, 201412 yr Hi, I have a question concerning the windshear alert in the PMDG 777. I know that the sound and alert exists in the aircraft, but from reading NGX forums I have read that it doesn't actually work since FSX's weather engine is obsolete and cannot accurately simulate windshear. Anyways, now with advanced weather engines like ASN that simulate microbursts, I was wondering if it was possible to get a windshear alert (from the 777, not the ASN alert) in the PMDG 777 while flying through those conditions. Thanks Mark Javornik
January 16, 201412 yr The only W/S alert I can hear is the one generated by ASN, not the one from the T7 ... But the same is true for basically all my other A/C. (Except the iFly NG. ) What happened to AVSIM
January 16, 201412 yr I use ASN and have just completed the flight from Auckland to Melbourne and encountered heavy turbulence and windshear on final for runway 16, there was no warning from the 777, I was flying the STAR and approach manually so managed to recover pretty quickly and get back on the glideslope and stable before minimums, landing was uneventful if somewhat harder than usual, I just wanted her down and braking as there were still heavy gusting crosswinds and wet surface.
